Had a patient admitted yesterday, 6/6/06: His BUN was 66 and creatinine was 6.6. Is that weird or what?!?!
Oh I am as nuts as the day is long baby...have to be or I would be too much of an advocate for chlorinating the gene pool! LOL!!!!!
I don't freak out at friday 13, or 666...but I do fully believe in full moon crazys. One, seen it too many times and get my best funny stories those days, and two...hubby who is a paramedic and his collgues sware by it and have the stories to prove it! LOL!
I believe in full moon crazy like I believe in twilighting! It happens...just go with the flow. Heck, the only differenece some days between me and my patients is that I hold the med room keys! LOL!!!!!!!!!! (J/K)
Oh my word people!!! I must be the only sane person on this planet. There is a lot that needs to happen before end times where we should worry about 666. So what does the date have to do with the mark of the beast anyway...come on.I worked psych for 5 years and now ED and I can't believe educated people still believe in the stupid full moon junk either. Whatever...my worst days have been on, any day, of any month, in any year, regardless of how big the moon was.
Just like Y2K...did the world end...did life as we know it change d/t every computer on the planet crashing...um...NO!
Speaking as one of those insane people, what might be "stupid" to you, might not be "stupid" to others.
And i would hope that pts. who believe "the stupid full moon junk" won't also get insults in return for stating their beliefs.:trout:

Larry - You aren't the only one to NOT believe in superstitions. I was really surprised when I first started working as a nurse and learned about the taboo words and full moon stories.:sofahider
I say "Quiet" at work every day. And we have quiet days. And we have busy days.
I've worked many full moon weekends WITH the doc who has the reputation of drawing in the crazies and have had very QUIET nights. And busy nights.
I think this is all just random - I don't believe that just because I said "Quiet", someone all of a sudden decided to drink and drive and get in a car accident. They are responsible - not me. I also don't believe that the moon has that much pull on us . .. although I agree it has a pull on the tide. But we have free will and are not governed by the moon.
I do think it can be FUN however to play around with stuff like this and I don't begrudge people their right to do this.
I've also mentioned I break mirrors on a regular basis, walk under ladders, open umbrellas in the house and run over black cats . . . . but y'all are probably getting tired of reading me saying that.

I do think it's funny the way you put that, Steph. The patient from hell gives birth on 6/6/06. I wasn't trying to pick on you.
Oh my dear Kat - I knew that.
BTW the OB from hell is NOW the post-partum mom from hell and no one said "Quiet" today (I forgot to say it) and there isn't a full moon but I did make a referral to public health . . . . . . .:angryfire

We had qute a few women reschedule their c-sections after realizing it was 6-6-06. L&D was very quiet yesterday.However...
We had a stable patient start acting up shortly after midnight on 6-6-06. At 6am, it was obvious that he was really getting sick. He passed away before midnight on 6-7-06. His name was Damian.
Spooky . . . . . . . . .

i am one of those educated people that firmly believes in the full moon. i've seen and experienced too much not to. just because you haven't and don't believe in it, don't belittle those of us that do.
