Had a patient admitted yesterday, 6/6/06: His BUN was 66 and creatinine was 6.6. Is that weird or what?!?!

Trippy! I just had a day from hades yesterday! I had two total admits 5 minutes apart, two post surgeries 10 minutes apart, and a two year old whos parents wanted me in the room every 5 minutes...and one very dynamic querky lady who loved to talk my ear off!
The hospital was packed, and we still had 7 pts in the Er waiting for admit...but no rooms or nurses! Divert status was called WAY TOO LATE...so I guess ER became a new med/surge (those poor nurses!). Even with RN's coming in early for their shifts we couldn't get things done, and Docs were getting ticked that their orders were not being done in a timely mannor, or that their tests were delayed hours!
No real odd ball pts, but what a choatic mess!
I hope tonight is better!

creatinine 6.6 amd BUN 66 not wierd, just renal failure. that is the normal ratio for creatinine and BUN. Say creatinine 2.0 BUN should be 20.
she knows that. she's pointing out the coincidence of the numbers.

666 is said to be the devils numbers, was my 6/6/06 day at work weird? Nothing bizarre happened, same old running for 12 hours as usual. Sometimes I think the devil created telemetry units LOL, just kidding.

Seemed so strange to not have scheduled c-sections yesterday, none of our md's wanted to try to schedule anyone, so guess what Monday and today have been?
7 planned sections on Monday with 2 add-ons and another 5 scheduled today and thank goodness, no add-ons yet!!!

LOL, Steph.
Anyway, I remember people were scheduling C-sections before and after 9/11 in 2002. I think that's going a bit far, since it's not likely to be remembered except in history books by the time the child gets into school.
As for 6/6/06 I think a lot of people are being awfully supersitious about it. It's been happening every 100 years and I don't think anything majorly bad has happened.

I'm not superstitious at all. So this all seems silly to me. After all it is just completely random how the days, months and years are numbered. No human being was here when the world actually started.
