Just got off the phone with my fabulous recruiter, who called to tell me that part of my packet has gone forward to determine my rank, which will probably take a couple of weeks. We've also scheduled my physical at Walter Reed for June 9. Hello, tape measure! LOL. We discussed having all my paperwork in and packet ready by August to go forward in October. I know it'll be here before I know it!

She also said the selection process is much more competitive than in the past, but I am a strong candidate with my letters of recommendation, experience, and GPA. And I'm motivated -- I really want to do this! *fingers crossed*

New First Lt. I totally understand. I'm going back in as a first Lt also, and I'm dying to know everything to expect. It's very different from my enlistment eons ago in the USMC. Now its army, its officer, and it's reserve. Takes longer but its very exciting. Good luck to you

But It's like I'm making the biggest change in my life and it shouldbe commemorated. (now this nigthshifter needs to grab a nap before I drop!)

I leave for COT in 30someodd days at Maxwell AFB for 4.5 weeks. Then I report to Lackland in San Antonio.

My kids were there at my commissioning. My son's eyes were just so huge. It made me so glad knowing and seeing how proud he is. There was a gathering of staff from there at Luke AFB hospital and they sure made it feel official and special. I'm actually finally REAL!! OMG. I can't believe it is really finally happening!

Anyone just slogging though this paperwork process.... just hang in there! This is an amazing journey.
