Just got off the phone with my fabulous recruiter, who called to tell me that part of my packet has gone forward to determine my rank, which will probably take a couple of weeks. We've also scheduled my physical at Walter Reed for June 9. Hello, tape measure! LOL. We discussed having all my paperwork in and packet ready by August to go forward in October. I know it'll be here before I know it!

She also said the selection process is much more competitive than in the past, but I am a strong candidate with my letters of recommendation, experience, and GPA. And I'm motivated -- I really want to do this! *fingers crossed*

Selection results are not made public; the only person who will know "yes" or "no" is your recruiter.

USAF Bean-I wouldn't start worrying yet. The results you may be reading about could have come from previous boards whose results were released late. I applied to the Novemember board which was postponed till December and so on. I had so many magical release dates that came and went and I still had no answers. I didn't hear about the results until March. The NTP board was coming back much quicker than the board I was waiting on. The tables may have turned now. There is no way to tell. I know the wait is awful, but worth it in the end. Keep yourself busy and enjoy this beautiful summer coming up.

Not getting your answer means nothing. It means you get to sit around frustrated and anxious. My results took 5 months. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Really. I finally get to leave in May. It's fun scheduling turning off the home services and getting to hand in my resignation (I'm so excited about that one!). For me the long wait just solidified my resolve that the AF was what I wanted. It has been the hardest decision I've ever made and I'm leaving alot behind. Staying home and in my good job would have been an easier choice. At least I don't have to worry about running in my current job. lol. Use your wait time and loose some stress working out and getting fit.
