Hi! Im a 34 year old nursing student. I'll be 37 years old by the time i graduate. Some says that i'll be too old to become a nurse. does age really matter when applying for a nursing job?

Hope everything's well with all the filipino nurses and students.

im from the philippines and is currently in IL. i would like to know where i can find a list of legit nurse recruiters or sponsors which i can contact. thanks!

Hi..! there im daniel im a young professional i just passed the nclex exam do you have any idea about agency who does not require experience? thank you please send me a personal message

Miss suzanne, Im just curious to know which is which? cgfns first or take nclex straight away.

One agency was telling me that there is no need for a foreign nurse to take cgfns, one could work in usa,as long as nclex and english test have been both passed. So, which is which?

Hello everybody,I'm very eager to go back in nursing but I dont know if I'm stil allowed ,cause of my age.I graduated year '81 and had experienced as staff nurse for about 3 years. After that I did not practice my profession. Is there any chance for me?I'm thinking to use my tourist visa for US to look for a school offering a refresher course, but do I need to pass first NECLEX before studying?Any city you can suggest? Before taking NECLEX do they require current experience? Is it a self review? Please anybody can advice me the best way to do and any suggestion.Thanks.

i think you still have the chance to practice the nursing profession, especially now that nurses' are in demand everywhere. you don't need to pass nclex if your intention is going back to school to take refresher course, particularly in usa. you only need nclex if you will work in the states, that is needed for you to be issued a license in order to be a registered nurse. i don't think that you stil need to take a refresher course, after all i don't know if there are schools who are offering such a course. it is not a good idea. if your intention is to work in the united states then what you need is to pass cgfns, english exams , and nclex. now, in order for you to pass cgfns & nclex, of course you need to review, and i am not talking here about self-review. you must enroll yourself at a review center. if i may suggest, ray gapuz is the best so far of all the review centers we have in our country because of the high passing rate. enroling and taking your time while you are in the review center can be some sort of a refresher course for you. i have a friend who did not take the board exam upon graduating and worked as a medical rep. instead. after 9 years of being in a job which is out of her course, she decided to take the local board and believe me, she passed. after taking the local board she took the cgfns, we even went to the same review center and still she passed the said exam. that's all i can say for now. hope it helps.

oh, one more thing goldenrule. i have frineds who applied in the same agency who are older than you so i think that still makes you qualified to practice nursing. also when i took my cgfns, i have seen a lot of nurses who i think are above 45 years of age. don't worry about your age okay..

Suzanne, what's the problem in graduating in 1988?I'm curious 'cause I'm planning to take a review for NECLEX and I graduate 1981.Kindly explain further please before I can move or start.

Hello Margie,

I heard Australia is a good place.Do you study nursing and have a plan to work there or go to US?Wishing you goodluck in your studies.
