  1. sorry to hear that. don't give up...i too had a lot of difficulty when i took the exam, it takes a lot of effort, perseverance, and determination to achieve what you want... try suzzane's plan, it helped me a lot, also try feuer reveiew, their website is www.fnr.net good luck, don't lose hope, just try again...
  2. i am sorry to say, but you sound way too judgmental. i don't know what you are against with a person having to take the nclex many times. for all you know these persons are the ones who never gave up, who possesses determination and perseverance to get what they want. nclex is not the only thing you need in order to practice nursing, you also need to consider certain values like being humane and patient and caring and other values and virtues that needs to be intact, and these are the things which are not being tested in nclex. candidates in a position will never tell you how many times they took nclex unless they are really open about it, and employers will never know not unless the prospect tells them. it's not only nclex that will determine if a person is fit for the job but also an above average eq, not iq but eq, of which only a few people possess. i am being open about the fact that i took nclex 4 times before i pass because i want other people not to be discouraged. let's face it, not people pass nclex the first time and its better to take it many times and pass than not to pass at all.
  3. yeah you're right most states will make you go back to school, that is if you don't pass the nclex rn for so and so times. but that's not the case here in new york. you can take nclex here in ny no matter how may times until you pass, there's no requirement but to meet certain eligibility so you can be issued another att, wait for another 45 days to retake the exam, and of course you've got to pay another $200 for the exam fee.
  4. 1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 265 2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? i did self-study. suzanne's tip helped a lot. i used saunders, gapuz, kaplan, and suzanne's tip 3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? no. this doesn't apply to me 4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? i waited for 2 days and found out i passes. we have quick result by web or by phone here in ny 5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i thought i failed. i had a lot of sata and computations 6. was this your first attempt at nclex? nope good luck to those who are waiting and ++++ thoughts for those who are waiting on results!!
  5. hi! i think its better to know the result earlier. it reduces your anxiety level and helps you plan what to do next. access to unofficial result costs only less than $10. good luck!:nuke:
  6. oh my, this is what happened to me:no:...my OB said my pelvis is not big enough to accomodate my baby so instead of giving birth the natural way I had a C-section. i did not experience having labor pains...yes she did told me about trial labor but all about the bad side...of course i ended up paying more fee in the hospital as well as a higher professional fee for the doctor but still thankful enough that i never had any complications neither my baby ....
  7. hello there! i'm also planning to go into psyche nursing after my contract with my employer expires. anybody here who can help me better prepare for my field choice?
  8. oh, one more thing goldenrule. i have frineds who applied in the same agency who are older than you so i think that still makes you qualified to practice nursing. also when i took my cgfns, i have seen a lot of nurses who i think are above 45 years of age. don't worry about your age okay..
  9. i think you still have the chance to practice the nursing profession, especially now that nurses' are in demand everywhere. you don't need to pass nclex if your intention is going back to school to take refresher course, particularly in usa. you only need nclex if you will work in the states, that is needed for you to be issued a license in order to be a registered nurse. i don't think that you stil need to take a refresher course, after all i don't know if there are schools who are offering such a course. it is not a good idea. if your intention is to work in the united states then what you need is to pass cgfns, english exams , and nclex. now, in order for you to pass cgfns & nclex, of course you need to review, and i am not talking here about self-review. you must enroll yourself at a review center. if i may suggest, ray gapuz is the best so far of all the review centers we have in our country because of the high passing rate. enroling and taking your time while you are in the review center can be some sort of a refresher course for you. i have a friend who did not take the board exam upon graduating and worked as a medical rep. instead. after 9 years of being in a job which is out of her course, she decided to take the local board and believe me, she passed. after taking the local board she took the cgfns, we even went to the same review center and still she passed the said exam. that's all i can say for now. hope it helps.
  10. I graduated from University of Perpetual Help - Laguna , batch 1997
  11. hi suzanne! i will be taking my nclex this year when i arrive at NY. can you tell me which review books are best to use?
  12. is there a thrid party like an angency or employer procesing visa for you? if there is then you better ask them and clear things out....
  13. is there anyone processing your papers like an agency or an employer? if you have then you better ask them and clear things out.
