Foreign nurse passed on 3rd try sharing my experience

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi,

I am extremely happy and still can't believe it that I just passed!

Let me tell you what I did to pass. It was a long road but it was worth it at the end.

I believe not having these review classes I would never pass:

1. enrolled for an online Hurst review it was helpfull to understand the basics and pull everything together

2.kaplan course-knowing the strategy helped me to pick the right answer but without knowing much about the content would not help if not Hurst review

3.practice questions from kaplan, used even exam cram, at least 150Q a day

4.study every day, make a schedule

Believe in yourself because if I did it everybody can do it.

Why am I saying that? Not knowing english when I came to USA was a challenge for me so I had to study 3 times harder than anybody else but I made it and I am proud to say I am RN!

Specializes in general.

Hi and congrats!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

I'm also foreign nurse (Croatia) and preparing for nclex.I plan to take it sometime in december and I was just wondering how long did it take you to prepare?

Congrats again and best of luck to you!!!!

Hi and congratulations RN! :yeah:

I have also graduated too in a foreign country (philippines) but I haven't made it my first try. Hopefully gonna make it in the second. ;)

hey,

i too am a foreign nurse and i am taking the test tomorrow. i am so scared cos i have taken it before and didnt pass. i took a review class this time and i feel a lot more confident but still scared.

wish me luck

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Congrats. Remember only approx 45% of foreign nurses pass first time. I to passed on my third attempt

45% is a scary thought for a foreign-educated nurse like me..aww I hope Ill be one of those few...

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

The reason it is so low is that the NCLEX is specific for the US and foreign trained will be studying for their own country's exam which will be different

I already passed CGFNS nursing exam march of this year..but its just passing grade im not ready yet at that time.. I feel tired studying nclexlike im dragging my feet. Hopefully we all pass. God bless to us

Specializes in Oncology, Diabetes.

Congratulations !!!
