  1. thanks rak85, waiting is the hardest part IMHO. In my 1st take the computer shuts down at 75. My test consist of many SATA's around 8 if my memory serves me right, lots of knowledge based questions and then 4 math computations. The latest shuts again at 75 with 4-5 SATA's, 1 math calculation and lots of priority questions, who do you see first, with some cohorting, infection control, planning, teaching and immediate follow ups.. The test is very hard to predict. What are the types of your questions during your exam? Congratulations again and Thanks rak85.
  2. congratulations, I also tested on the 6th. It's also my 2nd attempt. haven't seen my name yet on the BON CA site.
  3. Hi! Kaplan Strategies book that you can see on bookstores are focused on strategies on choosing the right answer the kaplan way. While the Kaplan Course Book is for the content. In which you can get when you avail their course. :nuke: For me the content book is not that complete. But the Pharmacology part there is good. Kaplan didn't work for me. Failed once.
  4. wow that scores are high, wish I could also do scores like that.. I think you're ready. :) My scores are ranging between 65%-75% on saunders. Is it a good note? Im planning to take my exam late december or early next year. Thanks!
  5. For me, It is ok to repeat the questions once, but to repeat the questions over and over again, a BIG NO! the problem with that is, you'll memorize the answer not on understanding the content and rationale's. Gaining false confidence. And that's what happens on me in my first take and I learned my lesson. I have repeated Kaplan's Qtrainer and Qbank's for almost 3 times, I think. But everyone's different. Good Luck to everyone of us! :nuke:
  6. thanks a lot guys! I had failed once in the exam, after I recieved the mail that I failed, I recieved a brochure about Dr. Charles Frye Live review thru mail. Anyway, here is the site for information about the said review http://www.nurseeducate.com Im currently now into Saunders 4th edition and plan to take a review/refresher course a week before my exam ala final coaching style.. thanks a lot! :nuke: Any recommended live review course here guys? particularly in LA area..
  7. Does anyone here has attended Dr. Charles Frye 3 day Live NCLEX RN Review? can anyone give me insight about the program? I plan to take Dr. Karrenberg's NCLEX RN review on December but his class on LA is fully booked already. Thanks everyone! Help appreciated.
  8. Sorry to hear about that.. I know how you feel, I also failed in my first try, went to the grieving process and Im preparing now for the second. I have prepared with Kaplan in my first but I guess Kaplan's not for me. This second time, Im preparing with Saunder's Comprehensive Review 4TH edition for content and the Saunder's CD for the Q and A portion (planning to do an NCSBN course after I finished Saunders.. :)) Take a week off for now.. Just relax, watch a movie, go hangout with your family and friends, etc. then after a week, you should start preparing again! We will pass with dedication, determination, hardwork and God's help. Goodluck to both of us!:)
  9. Hi! I graduated also in the Philippines last March 08 and I haven't taken the NLE there. Im also a permanent resident here in U.S. Had taken the NCLEX RN exam here once last August and I failed on my first try. Regarding to your situation, you just need to send the B.O.N. a letter explaining why you haven't taken the NLE there, a copy of your permanent resident card. That's what I did and after two weeks of sending them the letter and a copy of my permanent resident card, I recieved my eligibility. Hope that it helps. :)
  10. In philippines, they call it the Nursing Licensure Exam. :wink2:
  11. Hi and congratulations RN! I have also graduated too in a foreign country (philippines) but I haven't made it my first try. Hopefully gonna make it in the second.
