Hey... does anyone know if when they take these board required drug tests if they test for kratom? Has anyone even heard of this? It’s not even illegal or considered a drug in most states....

Never heard of it but it probably depends on the test they order. They have all different kind of tests they can order and some only test for common stuff and some tests check for lots more

for indiana its listed as a "no-no" on the guide we get. whether or not they test for it, idk. but I do know about people getting in trouble for testing positive for benadryl while in the program. so I would stay away. if you are truly an addicted, kratom could sent you right back down that slippery slope.

I wouldn't chance it if I were you. I know kratom can be found at every 7-11, but just in case it turns up on a UDS, you don't want to have it in your system. Just my $.02 worth.

Been takking kratom for years. Through school and also at different hospitals. It does not show up on tests. I proved it by taking it an hour before .

It doesn’t show up on your tests through your board ordered drug screens?? Can I ask what state you’re in?

I am in California. It doesn’t show up as an opioid because it is not an opioid. It acts on the Mu receptor about 0.02% - 0.06%, which is not enough to even register on a more advanced drug screen.
they would have to test for 7-Hydroxymitragynine the active ingredient in Kratom. Which mind you, is legal, so there is no real test for it.
That’s what I figured and am hoping. I am in a legal state for it too and not many ppl around here have even heard of it. I have yet to take my initial chemical dependency eval so I just don’t know what to expect. They said no “mood altering substances”. I pray they give me a list of no-no’s

I wouldn’t chance it. Labcorp does offer a urine screen & GC/MS confirmation for Kratom. It’s also listed on one of their synthetic opiate panels.
I doubt that this test is included on the routine panels ordered by the nursing alternative programs. But I’m sure it’s available to them if they wanted to check for it periodically.
I sure wouldn’t wager my nursing license on it.

benadryl is also legal but listed on the forbidden list. Unless you have a valid script... at least in PA

I took a test this Monday and it specifically stated Kratom was being tested for. That is in TX, through Quest labs/Affinity, FWIW.
