For those who have taken board drug tests

Published

Hey... does anyone know if when they take these board required drug tests if they test for kratom? Has anyone even heard of this? It’s not even illegal or considered a drug in most states....

benadryl is also legal but listed on the forbidden list. Unless you have a valid script... at least in PA

Yes, it’s the same in Kentucky. When I was in the program, my PCP would sign a KBN KARE form called a PMR (Prescription Medication Record) for Benadryl 25-50mg qHS prn allergies. The form was good for a year so I would always include it with my yearly check-up. The last couple of years my asthma flared up. She then included the otc Delsym cough syrup on the PMR so I wouldn’t have to make an appointment with her if I just needing an otc DM cough med . Since these were approved by my PCP, it wasn’t an issue with the KARE program.

So is MJ in many states now, but, it doesn't mean it is okay to take per the nursing boards.

Not saying it is right or wrong, just a fact of nursing.
