Ok, I know we should be frugal after we graduate and invest in retirement, pay off debt and student loans, etc. However, for a little fun, what kinds of things do you look forward to buying after you graduate and are working as a nurse?
For me: a Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) and a set of NARS blushes ($200), the best blush on the planet. I've also been fixated on buying a Mini Cooper:
I suspect I'll buy the Dyson and NARS, but the Mini Cooper may just not be a good financial choice.
So what do you all want to buy?
I also want a Mini Cooper(probably won't get it) and some MAC makeup(most likely will get this). I really want some MAC makeup, but can't afford it with the costs of nursing school.
Love mac make up ! :heartbeat. I wore it to clinicals one day, and the nurse asked if I was a model. Its either the Mac make up, or maybe I'm actually pretty ? Anyway, I plan on buying much more of it when I start working as a nurse.
I said that too at one point, and then my car broke down three times while I was out alone (thankfully it didnt happen when hubby and my 2 babies had it) and finally last weekend my car caught fire due to an electrical problem in 20 degree weather in the dark (on the way to work) on a country road 30 minutes from anywhere. I thought it was going to blow up. I've never been so terrified in my entire life.I'll take the car payment and the security of knowing my car is safer. :)
oh no! if it's any consolation, the Mythbusters had a very hard time trying to get a car to blow up even by shooting the gas tank. I think it's pretty hard to get them to explode - though obviously they do burn, and I would freak the hell out if that happened to me, lol. I'll take the train, thanks.
I'll have to start paying off all this debt I'm acquiring... but after that - I'd like to splurge on a few things.
1st - A major vacation with my son who will graduate the semester after me!
2nd - A new "used" car... I am one who just doesn't like to have a car payment!
3rd - I never thought I'd do this - but I think I'd really really like to have a housekeeper... even if it was just once a month to do all the deep cleaning that I seem to fall so far behind on while in school
4th - Remodel my kitchen and just give all the other rooms a "face lift"
Finally - some nice spa treatments... massage, facial, pedicure... will probably need it when I finish NS.
2 things: i think i am with so many other women- as soon as the 'check engine' light even comes out, i am positive my car is going to explode into a fireball!
second thing: i have found make-up that i think is way better and even more fun than mac (personal opinion, of course)- it's called aromaleigh. most of it is organic as well. that is always a bonus! you can buy these tiny little samples instead of splurging on some crazy purple eyeshadow you might wear once. i am such a little girl with my eyeshadow! the kookier, the better!

I used to wear cheep (maybeline) eyeshadow, and just for the heck of it I invested in the more expensive one (well not that glamorous but not the cheapest either ,each color 12 bucks,it was sold separately) and it turned out to be really waste of money, the color was coming off making my face look like a clown,by the end of my work shift I had my eyehadow all over my face...so I decided to go with my cheaper eyeshadow
when i am done with the PN program i am going to save up and i want a 2008 Toyota Avalon, black, black leather interior, rims (not to fancy). and i will begin RN pre req in Aug. so that would be my reward. along with taking my children on a cruise in May. and Disney World. give my babies a reward for putting up with my attitude and the fact that i wasn't really around during the program, since i was either at school or working... that would be their reward, and i have made them well aware of it. so they are excited for mommy to be done.
