So... I didn't get the flu shot for 2016 and it's a requirement for nursing school which starts this august. Will that be a problem...[...]
Every program that I'm familiar with requires the current vaccination during flu season. As the 2016-2017 flu season has ended, there shouldn't be any reason to get that vaccine now.
If you get the 2017-2018 vaccine when it becomes available you should be fine.
........go get one now?
Why?

Because the school requires it. Mine won't let me in without having had it in the past calendar year. It's just not something I'd risk. *shrug*

I'm freaking out because no one is answering the phone in my school's nursing department >.i have no problem getting the flu shot. I don't know why I didn't get it last year......
It will be a problem. Hospitals force flu shots; they cannot come right out and say it but you either will not be hired, be fired, be forced to wear a mask all year etc...
