Keiser University RN Program

Im new to the board,Im acually interested in finding out information on keiser Rn program,and i acually would like to know how much does it cost alone to take there general ed courses once you have been admitted into the program,also i would like to know exactly for those who are attending keiser specifically the ft lauderdale campus how do you like it so far?

My experience with Keiser has been as long as you give them money they will pass you in the classes, the credits are not transferable, and when I had a problem with my finances I made my payment but I had to go and borrow the funds from a family member asap. The money was paid late because they did not give me the correct information, and when I brought to there attention that my credits were not transferrable I was told Keiser never promised me they would be. Yes, but Keiser did take my money and the counselor did tell me I could alway switch to another school or stay there. As a matter of fact, I had credits to transfer into Keiser nursing program and they did not even want to transfer in my credits why because it meant more money in Keiser pockets, so I paid over 7000 for one semester and I have credits for classes I past and cant used them because no school would expect them.
that is my experience and the experience of several others

I just feel sorry for you that think like that... you had a bad experience!!!

I don't know what were you thinking when you said that they will pass you.. honestly you are now cordially invited to attend to one of our lectures...

and just so you know... at mid june, this year - 2 weeks from now, we are going to have our NLN visit, and go from pending to approved acreditation!!!

you are either ultra smart and don't know, or there is something wrong...

we have a strong program, very competitive, and we can see that people from other schools get amazed on how we do things...

so girl... i guess you had it bad.

maybe the money thing got you mad or something...

I graduated Keiser Melbourne, passed NCLEX first time w 75q.

My ASN is fully transferable to upgrade to BSN.

My class size was less then 20, whats yours 80 or 90?? Good luck with that.

The schools reputation is a big plus when getting haired, ask any BCC grad still looking who got all the jobs.

Yep it costs a lot to hire quality instructors and keep class size small when .gov is not helping by paying some of the students who don't care to be in school, you know what I mean.

Just enjoy your state schools with the low paid over worked instructors and huge classes that only observe during clinical s.

Check the number of Keiser grads that are working compared to your CC grads. then ask yourself if having a job to pay off that loan is better then a small loan while you are looking.

I smell sour grapes.

Let me first start off by telling you congrat's I wish you much sucess on you passing the NCLEX and becoming a nurse, second I wish you much sucess on your new job.

Now I will move forward, and start off by saying not ever nurse that graduates from a cc school can't find a job. secondly I will go into saying there are plenty of 4 year colleges that would offer one a BSN for the cost the Keiser affords there ASN and yes these are top notch private schools with excellent class sizes, and close focus on more than just clinicals. Secondly, when I attended Keiser there credits was not transferable to other SACS acredited schools you had to take class over again, now that is not to say that is the case as of now, maybe they was able to become SACS accredited in which other colleges are able to accept the credits from them, or maybe they were accredit before but just did not have the level of academics for other colleges to accept them. If they have that is great to congrats. Thirdly, the reputation of Keiser would not get a nurse hired over the reputation of lets say a Mecer Univ, or a Cornell Univ. which tells me that Keiser is not in the top elite of schools for nursing- so that comment is complete not called for. Furthermore, you are correct it cost money to hired educated instructors and keep class sized small, now if I can attend a private school and obtain a BSN within a small size class with excellent instructors or obtain Keiser and pay the same about for a ASN maybe you can help me figure out the difference.

Fourthly, if you was to compare the Keiser grad against the cc grad I doubt you would get a difference because like I stated there are plently of 4 schools offering the same degree at a BSN for the same price ticket and believe me they will get pickup before all of us.

Instead let us take a look of the gpa of the students entering Keiser versus the gpa of the students entering the cc schools, there you will find your difference. Most students attend Keiser plan and simple because it is a easy way to get into nursing schools and make money. They dont have to go through the GPA, and the apply waiting to get in - it is that simple- now if you want to pay that and you have that great, but dont get mad at others for telling the truth on what they experiences at Keiser has been. The rules and price that Keiser has set was governed and established by them and no one else.

Based on your spelling and sentience structure, please have someone proof your resume and cover letter. I am offering that as constructive criticism and not a put down, however one is always judged by what they write as unfair as that sounds it has been my experience (I'm 46).

I have a diverse education, with a degree in Construction Management as well as a Fire Science degree, I am a licensed commercial pilot, a licensed Paramedic (Ala) and a Certified General Contractor (Fla).

I feel I am in a position to judge the quality of an education program and what a good one costs.

The single most expensive cost to any school is the cost of the educational staff and you will find more advanced degree and doctorate level educators at Keiser for one simple reason, they pay better then the community collages, simple fact.

That said, I agree with the idea that your education is what you make it to be, not the staff. I reject the statement that "I want to go where more people pass the NCLEX that is the better education" nursing is a lot more then passing one test.

Keiser is unique in it's single lesson approach with an entire class given (pre-requirements) in one month as this is very fast paced and may not be for everyone. If you miss one 5 hour day at Keiser you have missed a weeks worth of material. You better wear your big boy/girl pants when attending. It is a very tuff program with a loss rate of nearly 50 percent (in nursing program)

The GPA and entrance requirements is actually only part of it, being able to stay with the program is what separates the adults from the children.

I researched several collages and universities and could attend any one of five and Keiser Melbourne was my choice based on the quality of the graduates as researched by their employment records as well my own needs as to a fast paced intense education with small class size.

Like any business they set the prices to be profitable just like any business, they somehow seem to fill every class they have and are currently over a year backlogged, wonder why?

Oh by the way, Keiser was the furthest from my home (over an hour) and the most expensive but in my opinion the best choice for me, your mileage may vary.

We all have different requirements and values, heck that’s why they make different flavors of ice-cream.

First off this is not a resume so I did not feel the need to proof read, now since I read your post lets point out your mistakes

the correct term is hired not haired.

as far as your other comments I dont know what you are talking about, Keiser has a entry exam which is the NET you past that and take a interview and you are in. Simple like I stated the education you receive at Keiser for a ASN degree you can get at a top of the line private 4 year college and receive a BSN. Keiser is a personal choice but to say that you have more of a job opportunity for going to Keiser is fooling yourself.

Futhermore I also have a diverse education in that this is a second career for me. My first career was in Accounting and Finance I also have a 20 year background in human resources so I would know how to examine a resume- but thank you for your observation I will make sure I use that in the future if I ever need a job in nursing

it is a simple thing:

Keiser is private and you receive what you could expect from a private university and more! i have no hold ups against it!

and highly recommend it!

Maybe nursing wasnt my thing and I am upset- I am sorry but I have no idea what you are talking about and it is apparent you dont either.

If you like Keiser that is great for you congratulations but dont get upset with everyone else because of there experiences. As far as earning the big bucks, I am very happy with my salary thank you, I am on the same board as you and you are a Keiser grad right, so maybe you should consider yourself and not concentrate on me.

I replied to a thread regarding a nursing program I was asked my experiences and I gave them, if you dont like then maybe you should hit the road and look elsewhere

lol if u knew anything about nursing and all the pre reqs and difficult teachers and labs and everything that goes with nursing you wouldnt be talking like that... every one in the medical field whether is Neurosurgeon to radiology technician has great respect for each other and always helps each other out because science is not easy and in order to make it you have to learn to be smart and a kind individual.. and with how hard and competitive it gets i bet you would be begging to get into keiser...nothing works out the way we plan but Ill be dammed if I ever develop an attitude like the one this person has... 2017 and its only getting more competitive so its time to look over every option, make friends with people in the same interest as you drop the ones who dont ,give up your social life, and do what it takes to have the career of yout choice!! this aint no accounting job people change their entire character to be able to work in the medical field which is why i am so proud to soon be working in the environment... for anyone reading this and feeling discouraged dont!! life gets in the way but it will only make you a stronger nurse!! :)) its always a great day to save lives remember why you chose the path you are taking.
