Florida IPN saga continues

So, I posted several months ago.

I self reported a positive drug screen 5 months ago. I don't do drugs, it wasn't an intentional thing. Let's just leave it at that.

BON is finally looking at my case. I got a phone call from IPN that the investigator on my case from the BON contacted IPN for an "emergency referral". IPN lady said I had 24 hours to agree to get an evaluation and voluntarily withdraw my license. The ironic thing is I already got an evaluation per my lawyer, who is approved, but since it was not "IPN facilitated" I cannot use it with IPN. ?I knew this would probably happen but my lawyer was hoping to present it to the BON and not deal with IPN.

My evaluation I got on my own did NOT suggest monitoring which is amazing! So I plan on sending that to the new, IPN owned, evaluator. I'm sure he is in their pocket and financially driven to say that I'll need monitoring. I'm mentally prepared for that part.

My concern is I've received nothing from the DOH/BON. My lawyer says I have two choices. Play the IPN game, or try to deal with the BON, but risk a suspension on my license while they "investigate", and a public complaint on my license.

I can see why IPN backs you into a corner and makes it seem that the only way is through them, by their arbitrary rules.

I'm waiting to hear back from IPN. I knew I'd get sucked into this, but a positive evaluation made me think for one moment I'd prevail.

Who did your other IME? So hard to find one to do one unless IPN pays them. They are all so scared of IPN and getting kicked out of the program. Such BS!

(PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES PER THE TOS)...she is not in bed with IPN, but is certified and credentialed with them so they have to consider her report.  Wonderful lady by the way!!

congratulations!! I hope your license is clear and active as soon as possible, the DOH is beyond slow, especially to reverse a wrong! I’m guessing doing anesthesia with that user name ??? I hope you sue the crap out of them all, such a money-grubbing program!

It was cleared immediately!   As if it never happened.  I will be going after the stupid (PLEASE DO NOT POST IDENTIFYING NAMES) who did my initial report.  He was so wrong it was pathetic.  He is (PLEASE DO NOT POST IDENTIFIERS) and should perhaps stop practicing!!  He needs to be stopped.  But yes, as of now I am completely golden.  I never even considered IPN..not for one second.

That's amazing! Best of luck to you! Fingers crossed that's the last of your BS. I literally quit nursing and am doing real estate. Much better market and way less stress! ??

Agreed but the money that it all costs is unbelievable.  I know it bankrupted me. Finally paid my last 3000 to the BON. Another criminal in the whole mess. But I do agree ? we can't let them win

I have spoken to multiple attorneys and received the same options as this post. IPN and half the providers that are IPN certified are definitely using nurses to make money. IPN’s case managers are essentially useless, make decisions based on no evidence or evidence based research, punish IPN participants and treat all of them as a number. I asked my IPN case manager what she knew about me and she said I was being aggressive. That’s because she knew my case number, not me at all. IPN may have been created to make sure nurses were safe, but they have far fallen from that path and are punishing good nurses that asked for help and nurses that absolutely do not need to be there. 
    I will be writing a letter to Gov Desantis, not that he will read it, as according to the Institute on Medicine as a Profession (IMAP), conflicts of interest “arise when the professional responsibilities of individuals or organizations are, or have the potential to be, compromised by other, external obligations.”  This is an inter group healthcare conflict of interest where, for example, a doctor who has invested in a treatment center may profit when people go there for treatments.  I wonder if they looked, does IPN get a cut of every test they order?

I checked myself into a rehab in Tampa for ETOH before it became a bigger problem. The Dr there advised me I had to do IPN and made the call then handed me the phone. That was 2 years ago. I still get tested for everything under the Sun. The Dr who called IPN was also an IPN Dr, funny how that works.

4 years ago I wrote to DeSantis  never heard anything. I think we ALL do this and keep doing it until the system is changed.   I am about 7 years from retirement. I am making it my mission, after they can no longer mess with me , to get the frauds changed...maybe have them give nurses restitution  for all the bogus charges and money we have spent...we can all hope anyway...becuase this fraudulent  system HAS to go !

Can we start some sort of petition?  I have proven letters to support the absurdity of IPN and what they are doing/using to get nurses to pay!  Its horrific!!  They need to be stopped.

Hello All IPN "victims",

    Even though I moved away and have a CLEAR RN license in SC, IPN and the.FL DOH are screaming for me to surrender my FL license ( which I just renewed but cant work unless im.in .......IPN).  SC RPP thought what I had been through was HORRENDOUS and they are 10000000 xs more supportive of nurses. 

IPN made me get an evaluation....evaluator made me go to IOP based on a PETH test of 24 from....2014!!   I did the way subpar IOP and because I wouldnt admit I had a PROBLEM  they extended iop another 4 weeks.

Because. I never admitted to a problem I don't have ( ALL TESTS NEGATIVE INCLUDING THE EVALUATORS TESTS) , IPN said I failed IOP and therefore needed a 3 day in patient DEEP.evaluation with a lie detector test.  

I left!!  I have a possible date with the nursing board in October, oh boy!  Once again to be referred to IPN,  even though I have been in another monitoring program in another state.

I have heard some terrible stories to those of you who have been brave enough to share them. IPN needs to be audited and needs oversite.  So corrupt and not supportive of nurses at all.

I wrote the attn gen awhile back....crickets!!

what about a group letter to Desantis????
