Yes I got my license in December. Nothing in the system for me has been updated since May 3rd, but you just applied so I dunno. Where did you attend school? But yea I'm gonna keep applying elsewhere, I am nervous about the 2yr contract but I also hear its a scare tactic LOL. But either way I just want to know that I have options.

I went to school in WA State so I have a license for there and Florida. I've heard that as well but at the same time, it's understandable. It's expensive investing in new grads so they don't want to waste their money or time

Oh ok nice...Yea I understand the reason for it just like to have options, I have a few friends that are in it at one location and several people have left, I get different reasons but does make you wonder. Finders crossed for both of us ;)

Have you heard back from HR? I haven't had anything new ..

I got a denial email...

I was told they were harder to get into because out of state people all shoot for them too. So I'm hoping Fish or Deland takes me, I will be calling them first thing in the morning though.

How about you? do you plan to call them or follow up

I called this morning and left a voicemail, but the voicemail said she was at the hiring event (which I wasn't able to attend, which makes me nervous). I applied to other positions outside of the residency and got denied for a portion of them so far. Just trying to stay optimistic!

Yea I applied to other positions too and got denied, but I hear that FH is not big on hiring new grads outside of their program. I'm also looking into the StaRN program thru the HCA hospitals but the next one is in Jacksonville so I will call HR to find out when the closer ones to Orlando will start.

I stated with the July 2015 RN Residency in the ICU at Celebration. I can't believe I've been working almost a year now. It's great and I've learned so much! Good Luck to you all!

Do you remember approximately how long it was between the time HR finished their part with you and the time you were contacted by a unit manager? I spoke to HR and they said they have all of my information and her part is done, and now I just wait to hear from a unit manager. I've read that in the past people could see on their account which jobs their information was applied to but I don't see that for me.

Actually a friend of mine got hired at celebration in the ICU so I asked her for the unit managers name and phone number and I called her directly and was interviewed and accepted the job right before I graduated from UF. It was contingent on passing the NCLEX and I started in July. UF had a job fair and Florida Hospital was there so that's how I found out about them. My friend attended UCF in Orlando and did clinicals at Florida Hospital. I was in Gainesville so I had no real networking contacts so I was a little aggressive and I got the first job I interviewed for. Good luck to you.

Sorry I didn't answer your question. I applied in early April and accepted the job on April 30. It was quite fast.
