Hi everyone!
So happy I found this post, as I have some questions for those who were hired. I applied the second I saw the postings online (maybe the beginning of April?), interviewed a week later, and was offered the position April 14th. The problem is I just graduated in GA and am waiting for my ATT. So far, it doesn't seem like I'll be able to test by June 1st, pushing my start date to July. Does anyone have the exact dates we have to be in attendance for orientation in July? I wrote it down but can't seem to find the paper anywhere.. Just trying to plan my move (and money! ) correctly.
Hey Fisahgurl. its in my understanding that they will work with you until you pass the nclex. I have been offered a position at the pcu floor starting in July . waiting for my att as well. they will probably have to push your start date in august as long as you accepted the offer and pass the nclex.
Hi! I'm a BSN grad from the Orlando area and I stumbled upon this post. I got offered a GN position on the CVICU at Florida hospital south for the July program. The program starts on July 25th, however 2 weeks before that begins you have to go get your badge, drugs screen, ect ect ect. I was told I would be contacted for my background check on June 25th and contacted by education on July 6th to discuss these things further :) I hope that helps a bit! Also, for the July program you have to have passed boards by July 6th!
Tips when applying:
1) Make sure to attach, transcripts, resume, cover letter, and scanned copy of BLS card (optional) References, well they make you do a skills survey to past clinical instructors/professors
2) Get to know who your contact/recruiter is
3)If you see in your "My jobspage" new positions and locations popping up, then that means the recruiter is shopping your resume around
4) For those of you that have not heard back after several weeks, then I suggest visiting the campus HR office in person and ask if you may tour a floor and speak with the nurse manager. Sometimes you have to be a bit more aggressive, which I was not. I just sat waiting for HR to schedule more interviews for me. Sometimes you interview with HR 1st then "if" your selected, you then interview with the hiring manager. Sometimes you interview with the manager and then another day with the clinical educator of that floor. Sometimes you get discouraged with local hiring outlook and get in your car to interview miles away lol.
Then one day, you decide before having to move away that you will visit the hospital a couple of miles away that never called you for an interview and talk to the nurse manager in person. What do you know, you get an email that states, "Dear XXXX, "We would like to extend an offer of employment to you" and BAM your now soon to be a PCU RN on June 20th

Can I ask how you started a conversation with her? With the GN position, I'm not exactly sure who to call because idk who and what location is taking GN's, but if I called, idk what to really say! That's really cool though, sounds like it worked out really well
