Surgical Oncology unit- New Grad
It's great, definitely a pre/post op floor and occasional ed admit overflow unit. We are called the "flap" floor so we get a lot of flap recons, trachs, lady's, Whipple. Things like that. I am very happy on my floor the people are very helpful and welcoming. Good luck on your interview!

It's a choice of two my math lab plus isbn#9781323487655 or survey of mathematics #9781323059388. Based on efollett both are school specific so you have to get it thru them. U can call the bookstore but if u log into blackboard on the far right side it says "launch Follett discover" and that's where u go to find your books and order them

US Govt was pretty easy, I just finished it. I also have taken Hist to 1865 and it was ALOT of work which was a big pain in the tail, you had to do discussions and then your group has to submit an overall discussion that is agreed upon, your involvement in the group discussion is part of your grade, on top of an essay and a test it was just alot, enough to make me think twice about taking the next one smh. I"m taking State and Local this Fall so not sure on that yet....

Surgical Oncology unit- New Grad
Yea I believe my floor will be the same, where we get pre/post-op patients and chemo is done on another floor. Just trying to get an idea of what to prepare for, this is my first job as a nurse and I graduated a year ago but took a year off to volunteer overseas where I did NO nursing work. So I am nervous that I will not know enough...

Hello, I just recently accepted my first job as an RN on the surgical oncology floor, and I have a few more weeks before I start and would love to hear from anyone who is in this type of unit, and any advice on what to study/refresh/prepare for. I'm extremely excited about this opportunity, thanks so much!!!

Florida Hospital Residency JULY 2016
Yea I applied to other positions too and got denied, but I hear that FH is not big on hiring new grads outside of their program. I'm also looking into the StaRN program thru the HCA hospitals but the next one is in Jacksonville so I will call HR to find out when the closer ones to Orlando will start.

I got a denial email... I was told they were harder to get into because out of state people all shoot for them too. So I'm hoping Fish or Deland takes me, I will be calling them first thing in the morning though.
