Florida Hospital Graduate Nurse Program - September/October Start Date

Published

Hi! Is anyone else a new grad applying for the September/October start date for FL Hospital's GN program? I graduated earlier in July and now I'm just waiting until they open the application so I can go ahead and apply.

Has anyone heard how many new grads they usually hire in ICU? That's the area I'm really hoping to get an interview in.

Did you have your license when you applied or just fast results? I passed my NCLEX but not sure when I'll have my official license in the mail. I didn't want it to be a problem if/when I interview.

I am actually waiting to take my NCLEX! Need to take it/pass by September 30th. Congratulations on passing! How fast are the fast results, because I want to do that as well. I was told to just report my license number as soon as I find out and I'm sure before starting in October, they will want a copy of the actual license.

That's good to know! It was 7.95 and I had to wait 2 days for it. I think it was a couple of hours past 48 but it was definitely worth it. Are you scheduled to take it or waiting on ATT?

2 days?! Why not 2 hours haha. But I'll take 2 days! I am still waiting for my ATT...in the meantime, I am studying. How was the NCLEX, any tips?!

I wish it was two hours!! It would have made life a lot easier for me lol. I used the Kaplan review it cost a lot but it was definitely worth it. I had friends that didn't use it and they passed as well. I thought it was similar to my exit/comprehensive HESI. Did your school use Elsevier/Evolve? We used Evolve Quizzing for our NCLEX review class and I thought it was pretty helpful since it was hesi style questions and it gives the rational. Make sure to read them and understand why. That was my biggest hang up was reading the rational and thinking I had it but I didn't understand it.

got a call from florida hospital today. will keep updated. anyone else?

Nothing here. I applied for a nurse intern position at Halifax Health about a week ago and they sent me a screening assessment. I think I'm going to put in for an RN position.

I'm interviewing tomorrow at FH and have one set up for next week as well but if I get the position tomorrow I'm canceling the other one. Good luck!

Good luck to both of you!! I hope it goes well, Allerina! :)

I got a call on Friday! I didn't have a missed call but just noticed I had a VM. I'm calling back in a few minutes and will update afterwards!

It seems very challenging to land a job as a new grad in Florida. So far, FH is the only interest ive had.

Yay congrats on landing interviews! Just curious, what types of units are you guys interviewing for?
