Florida Hospital Graduate Nurse Program - September/October Start Date

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi! Is anyone else a new grad applying for the September/October start date for FL Hospital's GN program? I graduated earlier in July and now I'm just waiting until they open the application so I can go ahead and apply.

Has anyone heard how many new grads they usually hire in ICU? That's the area I'm really hoping to get an interview in.

I have a sensitive question for everyone. I'm filling out the new hire info and it asks for religion. I'm an atheist admittedly and don't mind working for a religious based organization. It would be impossible to get away from it in healthcare. What has everyone else put down? I thought about putting down no answer or other. I thought it was illegal to ask about your religion?

I'd leave it blank personally so I wouldn't potentially be shunned by some

There was an answer that said other and no answer was the other one. I put down no answer. I think they ask for accommodation reasons? At least I hope that's the reason why they ask you.

Every floor and management is different. Some are very accepting and some not so much. It really wasn't an issue for me and between LPN and then RN school I did many years of clinical at FH (I'm agnostic)

I sent you a PM.

I noticed that many of you are relocating. Did you take your NCLEX in the state were you got your nursing degree, or did you take it FL?

Thanks

Congrats on all of the job offers and passing the NCLEX!

I see a lot of anxiety and nervousness over applying and interviewing for jobs. I know that FH accept applications for both the October and December start date at once, and that they started accepting applications a few months earlier than the October start date. It is a job, so like any position you apply for, you apply and wait to hear back if they are interested in interviewing you, employers aren't required to contact everyone that applies. I think a lot of people get confused in thinking that it's like applying for school where everyone finds out at the same time if they were accepted for the nursing program or not.

Sorry, I just saw this but I accepted a position with FH and I took my NCLEX in Fl.

When is the next round?

I think the next round is Feb/March. They just finished hiring for December.
