Florida Hospital Graduate Nurse Program - September/October Start Date

Hi! Is anyone else a new grad applying for the September/October start date for FL Hospital's GN program? I graduated earlier in July and now I'm just waiting until they open the application so I can go ahead and apply.

Has anyone heard how many new grads they usually hire in ICU? That's the area I'm really hoping to get an interview in.

Awesome, I do too. Did they tell you if/when you have to start your BSN courses?

No. They just asked if I had any plans to go for my BSN....I plan to start either next Spring or Fall. They didn't say anything about having to have it done by a certain time.

So tomorrow is the big day for me. What did they ask you for med/surg? Anything out there or unexpected?

lol no! Stop stressing Blue, I promise you will do great...it is as general as I already told you it was. Remember? Very relaxed! General behavioral questions....just pretty much getting to know you and why you are in nursing and why you chose Fl Hospital. Very typical of what you would see at many nursing interviews I would imagine. I think the more focused interviews are saved for ICU/ED positions.

Thank you for the suppor! I'm so incredibly nervous. I really want this unit and this hospital. A week ago I was ready to write it off and say I wouldn't get hired. I'm going to try to relax and watch a little TV, read up FH and practice answering questions. Wish me luck! I'll post here on how it went. I hope your ortho interview goes well!

I had my interview and it was awesome! The nursing manager offered me a position at the end of the interview. She said she would allow me to start in December too! It's kind of surreal but I feel so happy. I'm just waiting on the offer to come through my email.

CONGRATS! I'm so glad your interview went so well!

My ortho interview also went well :) I was offered the position and am now trying to decide between Winter Park Ortho/MSU Days or Altamonte Med Surg Nights.
