Florida Hospital Graduate Nurse Program July/August 2015

Published

Hello Everyone!

I am going to be graduating with my ADN in May and am planning to relocate back to Central Florida from Southeast Missouri (I moved here in 2007 with family and I'm very much looking forward to this move!). I applied for the July/August 2015 Graduate Nurse Program and selected my preferential locations as Orlando and Altamonte in PCU, Med/Surg Tele, and ED. I am hoping to move as soon as possible after graduation, dependent on getting a job. I am a single mother to a one year old and cannot go if we don't have a stable situation yet.

I guess what I'm wondering is:

What are my chances?

What advice do you have for me?

Did anyone have a similar situation and get hired on?

My application was submitted yesterday evening and this morning it said "Under Initial Review". I am 22 and have had 4+ years experience in Nursing as a CNA, the last year being spent with a Community Health Systems Hospital. I mentioned that I would immediately be pursuing my BSN this summer and also that my mom worked there as an RN before we moved and how she had many good things to say about FH.

Thanks in advance! I am banking on getting this opportunity and am not sure where I will go work wise if I don't get a position with FH. Haven't heard many good things with Orlando Health?

Specializes in Emergency, Med/Surg, Med/Tele.

So a bit of light has been cast on my situation! After being rejected in March (still in my final semester and working as a CNA), I made contact with an HR Recruiter who wanted my resume and said to apply again for the program. I updated everything last night (including that I am working now as a Graduate Nurse and starting my BSN) and resent it. I received the pre-screening questionnaire today and my application status has changed to under initial review again. I didn't get the pre-screening tool at all back in March. So my question now is, how long did it take before those of you who obtained interviews heard from HR? I sent in the questionnaire a few minutes ago. Thanks in advance. :)

Took me a few days. Wasn't long at all

Which companies if you can provide me with their names?

Also, was your interview done on Skype and what specific questions were asked if you remember?

So if you are out of state, they will not let you fly to Florida for the interview right or it depend on the manager? Thank you.

I'm from MI and I did a skype interview. It's not really Skype they have their own program. From the time I applied to the time I was hired was about 3 else. For Tampa

Hi! So May 7th I applied and actually received a call the next day for an interview. I had my interview on the 10th via Skype! And then the next day on the 11th I got offered the job.

Specializes in Emergency, Med/Surg, Med/Tele.

Wow, that's awesome! Are you BSN or ADN? Congratulations :)

Hi all! I'm also a graduate nurse from NY and I recently accepted a position with Florida Hospital Tampa. I did the same skype-style interview, was only about 15 minutes. They asked me questions about what teamwork means to me, what I knew about the hospital/their mission, etc. Very excited to start in a few weeks!
