Hello Everyone!
I am going to be graduating with my ADN in May and am planning to relocate back to Central Florida from Southeast Missouri (I moved here in 2007 with family and I'm very much looking forward to this move!). I applied for the July/August 2015 Graduate Nurse Program and selected my preferential locations as Orlando and Altamonte in PCU, Med/Surg Tele, and ED. I am hoping to move as soon as possible after graduation, dependent on getting a job. I am a single mother to a one year old and cannot go if we don't have a stable situation yet.
I guess what I'm wondering is:
What are my chances?
What advice do you have for me?
Did anyone have a similar situation and get hired on?
My application was submitted yesterday evening and this morning it said "Under Initial Review". I am 22 and have had 4+ years experience in Nursing as a CNA, the last year being spent with a Community Health Systems Hospital. I mentioned that I would immediately be pursuing my BSN this summer and also that my mom worked there as an RN before we moved and how she had many good things to say about FH.
Thanks in advance! I am banking on getting this opportunity and am not sure where I will go work wise if I don't get a position with FH. Haven't heard many good things with Orlando Health?
Hi cadyssa,
I got a call back on Thursday! The recruiter sent me an email request for references, asked me why I wanted to work at FH, how I would further the mission of the hospital, if I had a location/unit preference. It went pretty well. They went over pay rate and said I would have full benefits from day one.
I received an offer from Florida Hospital Altamonte on the end of my interview. How long did it take everyone to receive the official paperwork? I was offered to start in October or December and opted for December so that might explain why I haven't gotten it yet but I'm getting a little worried.
For Florida Hospital the recruiters number is 703-298-6863. Definetely call her. Her name is Joyce is is sweat and nice to work with. They have a $25,000 sign on bonus for nurses with one years experience. For new graduates they will pay all of your moving expenses plus give you $10 ten thousand doallers to get you going. (moving trucks, sign apartment rental deposit, first months rent, etc ) You have to sign a contract and must decide if that is what is best for you or not. Good luck.
