Hey guys! Is anyone here applying for the Generic BSN program for Fall 2016? I couldn't find any topics for it.
I'm in the process of applying right now and I just took the TEAS V today! I'm content with my score, but I may retake it. I hope that with my TEAS V score, my GPA, and my extracurricular activities combined that have a good chance of getting accepted into the program!
My stats are:
Science GPA: 4.0
GPA: 3.96
TEAS V Cumulative score: 79.3%
Reading portion: 83.3% unfortunately I ran out time on this one and had to blindly guess on two questions!
Math portion: 66.7% such a bad score for me! I had to guess on like 5 questions because I wasn't keeping track of time!
Science: 81.3% I'm so relieved with this score. I was so scared that I wouldn't pass the 62% mark. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!
English and Grammar: 83.3 % It was an okay section, a couple of tricky questions. I had like 3 questions on how a word is spelled correctly and those get confusing when two of them look like the right answer!
I would love to hear from anyone else who is also applying for the Fall 2016!
Hey! Do you guys know if we have to sign up for an Advising and Registration Day? I keep getting notifications to do the Virual Orientaion and sign up for that, but I know they give us our schedule so I don't know if that applies to us
@tabithaax3 if you are a transfer student then yes you have to do the virtual orientation it's $35 then the regular orientation is basically the nursing orientation on June 15. All advisement and registration is done directly through the nursing department once you're admitted so when the time comes to register Mr. Rodriguez and the other nursing advisors will handle the advisement and registration portion despite what your student dashboard says on myfiu.
@len95 I emailed Mr Yap. All he said after I told him about FIU's health insurance was "if it's the case, does it cover hospitalization?" I replied yes it does. He never replied. So basically I am not sure if that's a yes or a no. It seems he doesn't even know if FIU offer insurance.
By the way, did anyone pay the $200 for registration?
I received a similar response. He told me that I might have time to upload the documents before Aug. 22. So I'm assuming it's ok to submit it after July 15th...
I called Yap on his direct number. He said it is ok if coverage starts before Aug 22nd. He said it would be best to get one before that just in case, because if you do not have it you wont start the program.
I keep getting my chest x-ray rejected. My PPDs always come back positive. So I just get a chest xray instead of getting a PPD then an Xray. They said they want proof that is it really positive. My doctor keeps signing forms saying that I am TB free, with a chest Xray report. I just uploaded a from Yap told to get my physician to sign. If they dont accept it, I am just going to get that PPD, but I am not getting another Xray. I hope they dont tell me that the xray has to be redone because it was done before the PPD
Make sure it's BLS certification. It must say BLS not cpr. I got mine done in Miami shores for $50.00 got my certification that same day. Found them on thumbtack. The name of the company is Onelife source CPR
