First Choice Nurse; Second ???

Published

Most of us, most of the time, love being nurses. Secretly...if money wasn't really an issue...and you did need to work somewhere doing something...what "do you want to be when you grow up?"

If money was no object, I'd actually want to be an administrative assistant - someone's secretary! Answering phones, greeting people, stuff like that...crazy, I know.

What about you?

And please....sincere posts only. Let's keep it clean.

Look, okay. Identical twins used to be ONE person. Now they're two. It's terrifying.

I think the mortician and last journey thought is rather beautiful. I like that. I'll add to my list that I want to be the person who creates and decorates the rafts that are used to send the bodies out to sea. I'm not much into the traditional funeral and burial practices we use here in the states. I like the rejoining with nature idea, being launched off. I'll help do that.

The keeping it clean comment form the OP?

Yea, guess who she was talking to? *innocent look*

Wonderful answers all...wonderful answers... :)

Honestly, I would want to do something in nursing or medicine. It is G-ds work! I am not doing it for the money. Yes, I need to be able to pay for necessities. For example car, home, clothes, food, children, wife's gifts, vacations. Yes, vacations are a necessity. If money was why I was going into this field I would not be going into this field. I would be doing something else. I did sales for years and found that I made no difference and I was making more than I would as a nurse. I left it because of this reason. It was just a pay check.

Corn husker. I like the young ears, I'm fast, and I get all the threads.

OMG if I were a corn husker, I'd require around-the-clock benzos to deal with the "missed a thread" anxiety/rages.

Ok...can we please stay away from the Media industry and the near-naked employment options? I can't believe that I need to state this...really people...

I think his post was in reference to two recent threads asking if their cam girl job will be a problem w/ the BON. ;)

If I had no attachments I would love to do a Doctors Without Borders thing.

Someday I want to work for a group called VOMedical. It was my motivation for getting into trauma nursing. :) I'm waiting for the attachments to get older/more independent, though. My husband is good with it, but he'd get pretty overwhelmed flying solo w/ the kids for lengths of time.

If money were *truly* not an object, I'd be one of those lazy, artsy American expats wandering about Europe being all Bohemian and stuff.

I cannot imagine any sort of scenario where I would have a job if I were independently wealthy. Making enough to get by in reasonable comfort is my sole reason for working, a necessary burden I would be glad to be rid of.
