I took my first A&P test today and I know I totally bombed it. I need to get a B in this class in order to move on and I dont think this is going to happen. I am very frustrated.......
How did you keep your spirits up?
Any tips on how to retain the information?

I think I bombed my first a&p test also....ugh. We get our grades back Wednesday. I can't make an A in this class if I bombed the first test. I am so disappointed ! I need to study even harder - which I studied hard ! I am keeping my spirits up cause I can still make a B.... So can you ! Our professor did say his first test was the hardest of all the tests. It was on histology. I had a tough time telling the difference between some slides. If you didn't get the slide correct you could not ans the location and function correctly. What was your test on ? Stay positive! We can do this....!

I took A&P1 a year ago...and I got a 71 on my first test. It was the highest in the class, lol. I did well the rest of the tests and good in lab and ended up with a "B" in the class. So don't let one test decide your fate. Just do better on the rest and you'll be fine! Good luck!

It's okay. I've been there.
And there's always chocolate.
You should understand things rather than memorize them because when you already graduate, most of the stuff you memorized will be gone. Believe me. When you understand/comprehend the subject, you know it by heart no matter which way it presents itself in the future.
Smile. We've been there. Just study harder next time.
Good Luck!

I got 90.5 on the first lecture exam, 54 out of 50 on the first lab exam and i'm 30 out of 30 on the 3 quizzes so far 10 pts each. It is easy for me to remember this kind of stuff cause i love it! conversely I couldn't name a single student in my A&P class (im horrible with names)! also I have been working 48 hours a week recently and am taking a half semester CNA class (10 hrs a week), so time isn't what did it for me!

It's all about repetition. Note cards. Typing out notes. Using web resources, such as.. http://msjensen.cehd.umn.edu/Webanatomy/default.htm I made a 93 on my first test using these tools. I'm sort of obsessed with it. Make it your game. Challenge yourself to know as much as possible. There should be some online resources accompanied with your book to help you learn the material covered in the book. If all else fails have a talk with the professor and see if they have any tips for performing better on their exams. Just a few ideas, but relax... and study. This is just a semester in your life. You will get through this!!!
someone omce told me "aim at nothing and you will hit it every time" set a high goal for yourself and try to reach it. need 80 for a B? try to make 95. you may find yourself like me, dissappointed with a 90.5, but still making an A!

I'll make this short..lecture is understanding the whole concept taking into account the systems and how they work. Plus tons of memorizing, but if you know how the systems work it's much easier to memorize the parts and know why they are there and what they contribute. For lab...I see this over and over again in every lab class no one takes their time slowing down and enjoying the fascinating aspects of the body. Take your time stay until the end you've paid your professors to do so and most of them appreciate those who stay. Use this in all science lab classes and you'll be well on your way to knowing so much more than your classmates. It also gives you hand on experience of what you need to know in lecture. I would guess your going into the health field and A&P is essential basic knowledge you will always need. Don't fret just learn.

I got a 67 on my first test. I hope for at least an 80 on my next test (that'll put my grade at a C which is what I need).
