Hi everyone! I finally finished my 12 weeks of RN orientation on my med/surg/tele unit. And of course today being my last day of orientation-what a nutty day! I had 5 patients, all on tele, and I felt like all evening long I kept re-checking EVERYONE's vitals. One pt. had really low BP, the next one had sky-high BP-I was constantly checking SOMETHING & then calling the docs. Then one of the pts. had PVCs, the other had a temp/was coming down with a cold/would not let me leave the room every time I was in there/needed IV Lopressor/then proceeded to start crying on me just as my post-op came to the floor & my name kept getting called over the intercom to see the new pt. AUGH!!! I left 30 min late....oh well! What a night! I can't believe I'm on my own now!

Congratulations!!! From all the previous posts I've read of yours it sounds like you are a really, really good nurse. Like you surely know what you are doing and are sharp about your pts, and always willing to be positive. Good luck in the next part of your job... it is exciting and scary both from my very limited experience so far and it DOES get better than the first few hectic awful shifts. Please come here often and tell us how it goes!! :)
