Hello everyone....
I just received my ATT to test today... I am scheduled to take the NCLEX on February 8, 2010 which is about 3weeks.... I would like for anyone who is scheduled to take NCLEX in the month of February to share their stories and stradigies for preparing for NCLEX exam..... We can accomplish this together...
I am using NCLEX 3500. the Saunders CD & textbook as my resources.... I do 150 question in test mode each day... I use my school's library as my focal point for studying because being at home for me JUST DONT WORK:eek:. I love it because my schools' library has open access to alumunae graduates.... I know this may sound korny but I can't wait to take it... I know we can ALL do this together...
WE MUST STAY CALM, CONFIDENT, FOCUS, & POSITIVE on this journey to becoming an official RN:nurse:
I took my NCLEX PN today. I thought for sure I failed. It shut me off at 85 questions and my last question was pretty easy. I changed a lot of my answers which I know is a big "no no" and read into the answers way too much. I really did not thing I passed and am still not 100% as I am in Cali and have to wait around 4 weeks before I get my letter in the mail. However, I "passed" according to the pearson vue trick... which I hope is true.
I recently got my ATT and I will be taking my exam the third week in March. I an so nervous and words can not describe how I feel right now. I am using the Saunders CD, NCLEX 4000, and Kaplan qbank and trainer questions. I would say I average about 100-115 questions per day some in the AM and some at night. Do anyone have advice on testing anxiety and any other good sources I should be using???
I found out this morning that I passed!! I'm very excited to be licensed!
Psinglet, my best advice for managing your anxiety is to keep breathing! Get to your testing center early. Before you walk in, calm yourself down in the car. Tell yourself you can do it. When you get there, I recommend asking for ear plugs, that way you can be in your own world without distraction. When you feel your heart pounding, tell yourself to breathe, that you have time to answer all the questions you need to answer, and that you've prepared yourself for this moment.
My advice for studying is just to take practice questions and read the rationales. You can study content all you want, but really it comes down to being able to answer any random question that comes your way. There's no way to anticipate what you'll see on the test.
You'll do great!
I was scared to do the trick at first but my husband just made me do it and I got the good pop up!!! Thank God, now I just have to wait on the offical results. My state does not do quick results so it will be a week or so. The test was harder that I thought but I am so glad it is over :-)
