retake NCLEX RN pass rates so low?
NCLEX should not be something that you study for 'quickly' or at the last minute. It is NOT an easy exam and it shouldn't be - simply because you will be dealing with people's lives. I did pass on my first try - 75 questions. I studied like crazy for 2 months! Used Kaplan. Thought I had failed too. I had a friend who took it twice - failed both times w/ 75 questions. After analyzing what he did wrong - we both came to the conclusion that he was distracted by other things: Partying, sleeping, etc. So, my advice to you is to take a mental break for a week or two. Refocus. Set a scedule and stick to it. Don't be over-confident. Believe in yourself. Be disciplined because after all - you will be embarking on a rewarding career that requires everything that I have recommended to you. You can and will conquer this NCLEX and when you do - be sure to share your success!

February NCLEX Test Takers....
Man I was soooo scared! The NCLEX was NOTHING like Kaplan. I thought the questions were more like EXAM CRAM. I had ONLY 2 infection control questions. 5 SATA. 1 Drag n drop. 4 Lung sounds(yes i had to put on headphones!) and 1 picture. The questions were straight forward and I promise you - there is no way that I could have prepared for this exam with any short cuts. You MUST know content or be a good guesser. Kaplan was not good fo me because I needed a content review - so I had to read another book after Kaplan. I did roughly 2500 questions - I studied every day for 3 weeks straight. I had a good support system because they believed in my when I didn't believe in myself! I had diarrhea 3 days leading up to the exam. Broke down crying 2 days before the exam. Extreme dry mouth the day before and on test day - I drove to the center in silence. As I was testing I zoned out b'cause I thought that I didn't know the answers. I paused on q74 and then pushed "NEXT". OH NOOOO - SATA ... but it was on AIDS - yes - I know this one! I pushed next and it cut off. Did the survey and I was done. I felt like I failed. Told my husband I was sorry and maybe next time. I get home and for the heck of it - I did the Pvue Trick. Yes I got the 'good pop up'. OMG... WTH?? today - I paid 7.95 to see the words PASSED! I cried on my husband shoulders. My daughter got me some tissue and I sent about 80 bulk text messages letting my friends know that I did it. I must thank allnurses as well because I have been on this site looking for encouragement and understanding and I recieved it in one way or another. I wanted to be among those who said "i got the good pop-up" and now I AM! Most of all - I prayed and promised and prayed and promised - and now as a RN - I will live up to those promises. So to all you who have exams coming up - believe in yourself even when it's hard. You are going to feel like you failed - it's normal. when you get your RN - come back to allnurses and let me know your experience. THANK YOU GUYS SOOOOO MUCH!

February NCLEX Test Takers....
took my nclex today at 1130. finished in about 1.5 hours. shut off at 75 questions. nothing like i expected- but in all honesty, i didn't know what to expect - Kaplan type questions or Exam Cram or Saunders??? It was NOTHING like KAPLAN!!! anyways... i 'll rant later after i CONFIRM that i made it through the beastly thing called NCLEX. i rushed home - tried the pvue trick and got the pop-up so i'm hoping and praying to god that i passed.
