Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL
I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.
I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.
Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?
Hey JKVanso,So FCCJ is more competitive than SRJCC? I know they are going by GPA, I wonder if it's cumulative GPA or just the GPA on the pre -nurse requirements.. Well at least you're in one and that's better than none! Plus what about the Entrance EXam? Is it like FCCJ's??
I heard that over 250 applied and they accept only 30. However, it is GPA, which I think is great! The top 30 GPA's get in. The GPA is on the pre reqs. They no longer use the NET for the entrance exam. They use the HESI, which I did REALLY well on (90's in all areas). I thought it was easier than FSCJ simply because of the time limits.
I'm just glad to be in somewhere!
i accepted my seat at sjrcc but i was hoping i may get into fscj also. oh well, i will focus on my deadlines now:d
jkvanso: congrats on getting into sjrcc!
for the rest of us...
i was just explaining to my husband that there isn't much i can do between now and the next application deadline... so the good news is that it should be easy sailing. i'll probably have my application in on april 1... which just means i'll be anxiously waiting through july to hear back about fall...
congrats to everyone who was accepted this round... don't forget to look out for us next term
if the cut off is 197.96, that's 2 whole points above my score... that makes me grateful that there are twice as many seats available for the fall... perhaps i have a shot!
anyone know if they will accept inp1390 instead of psy1012? when i do my degree audit it comes up with my intro to psych. i got a b in intro but an a in inp1390... i'm wondering if i can get them to use that towards my points... that would bump me by 3 points...
i think the only classes they allow substitutes for is mac1105 and higher, and humanitiesjkvanso: congrats on getting into sjrcc!![]()

That's what i figured but for some reason it shows up on my degree audit... It's a Human Relations course, so I can see the logic... Not sure why on a Nursing Degree Audit it shows as filling the requirement.

Not sure, but if you are unsure the best bet would be to call out there and ask the nursing department directly so you get the answer straight from the horses mouth ya know
