Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL
I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.
I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.
Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?
I did my drug urinalysis on last thursday at Northside medical clinic, I did not get any type of receipt or paperwork showing that I did take it. Did anyone else get something back from drug test? Was I supposed to get something back?
You're supposed to get the carbon copy of the chain of custody form you picked up from North Campus.
Im of to North Campus right now to try and turn all this paperwork in.
I got my ppd results so Im ready to turn all this stuff in.Where do I go?
Is the paper a typo because it says documents due on Monday, March 19th but the 19th is a Friday.
I'm not sure where you go but I did call to confirm that we had to have it turned in by Friday, March 19th.
I've had issues so I'm going to wait until Thursday to turn mine in.
Well I got my PPD test read this morning, then got a call saying they didn't draw enough blood to get the MMR titer done. I knew a quarter of a vial wouldn't be enough, but had already been stuck 7 times. Luckily my regular dr. just called me back and I am just going to run to Quest where they are competent enough to draw my blood.![]()
I wanted to let everyone know, I'm not sure what your paperwork says about the polo t-shirt, but the website for Florida Specialty wasn't the right site to be able to order online. I spoke with someone at FL Specialty and he gave me the direct link to order:
http://www.companycasuals.com/nursing/start.jsp
He said they were supposed to include it in the packet, but mine didn't have that site.
You poor baby! I know how hard that blood drawing experience was for you the first time. Did I ever tell you about my hand surgery experience? I got my blood drawn at Quest and the lady I had was great... you shouldn't have a problem.
They sent the correct link for polos in the email they sent this morning regarding orientation. Appears as though orientation is 8:30am until 3pm... I guess I better have my hubby plan on picking up my baby from school.
Yeah Haven't heard anything yet but yea figure it's one less thing I will need in the fall. I was Live Scan fingerprinted today for my concealed weapons permit and asked if it would be useable for nursing. They said that I should just have to tell them to look it up... So hopefully I won't need to pay for finger printing again come fall (or summer if by some grace of god I get in).If anyone comes tomorrow to the CPR class, track me down and say hello. Like I said, I'm short and have dark brown curly hair.
I hope you get in as well. We could wear our JoPa masks and our "I bleed blue and white" t-shirts together during football season!
Good luck!
I have not received an acceptance or decline, does anybody know if they have any more acceptances to get mailed out, maybe for people who had to decline? Wasn't yesterday the deadline to accept the spot?
Nothing for me either. Although, we should get something today or tomorrow (I know from past experience!)
However, I'm still really confused how someone with less points than me, got accepted???
My PPD was positive so I had to go and have a chest x-ray done yesterday. I will not have the results of that until Wednesday so I'm going to wait until Thursday to turn my stuff in. Any other stuff I need as follow-up, I'll bring to orientation.
My arm really hurts where they did it and is now getting really itchy... its annoying!

I'm inclined to believe that the person that everyone keeps referring to did not calculate their points properly. Just my opinion...
