Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL
I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.
I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.
Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?
A word of advice to anyone looking to get blood drawn at Northside Medical Clinic... RUN FAR, FAR AWAY. They poked me SEVEN times, two different employees, finally got a quarter of a vial out of my wrist, while at the same time blood was pooling in my arm- it is full of blood, excruciating... I should have left but really wanted to get everything done at once. I'm just hoping they got enough blood for the titers. They were VERY inexperienced and not clean- no gloves, kept touching the skin after wiping w/ alcohol, etc... Fine for the drug test but I would not recommend them unless you're a very easy stick.
Ljonm, were you in an orange shirt? I think I saw you. I had my little boy with me.

haha yeah. That was me. I was with my mommie. Cute son btw.
I thought the multiple poking was just for me because Im a guy and I got some cushion on my arms. I guess it was just the workers. The first lady tried twice on my right arm and hand and then another one came and did it the first try in my left arm
Was it seven times just for the blood?
When did you get out?
It was seven times just for the blood, yes. Worst experience ever. I didn't get out until 12:45. They were very nice, just not great at blood work! :)Did you do the fingerprinting? I'm headed there at 4.
yeah. Just got done with it.
It takes less than 10 minutes. I went to the UPS at baymeadows and It was pretty empty.

One consideration about the lowest point total......
Did that individual qualify for the Diversity Program (for minorities and men)? There is a specific # of slots set aside for them.....
Just a thought.
