FCCJ Summer 2010 hopefuls...

Published

Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL

I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.

I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.

Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?

I can't believe it (since I'm considered out-of-county...St. Johns), but I actually got in to N/W!!! (I had 223 points)

Congratulations to everyone who got their acceptance notice!!! :yeah:

And for those still waiting, good luck...don't give up hope!!! :redbeathe

Thanks! I managed to get an appt for tomorrow after begging the scheduler to just find a Dr not necessarily my md.

When did you get your email/letter???? TIA!

I got an email yesterday, but no letter. The email indicated "daytime", but I only applied for nights/weekends. So I sent an email to the nursing department late yesterday and received a response this morning indicating I am indeed in the nights and weekends program (yay!)

lol nevermind

so much stuff to do >_

I haven't recieved a flu vaccine abd our sheet says proof of one before or on 3/10, does this mean I dint need it, or is that a typo ?

I was wondering about that too, but I figure that not everyone has even found out about their acceptance yet, so they have to give us more time.

Does anyone know if night and weekends have to go thru the lottery for classes? I figures that since there are not many of us we should all be grouped together.

Yes, there is a lottery for eve/we. Although everyone is in class at the same time, only 12 per clinical, so the section basically determines your clinical location/instructor.

flmom, do you have 5 kids? I have 6, only 4 at home, the youngest being 4 years old. I also work full time. How do you do it? I know I am always going and sleep is a past time.

I know they cant all be out. Someone in my microbio class also put her packet in with the same points as me and has not heard anything yet. Keep your chin up, you should know soon. then you will be going crazy trying to get everything done in less than 10 days.

I have 5 kids of my own. DH has 4. I was a single mom for years so I kinda did what I had to do. I never thought about whether is could be done or not....I just did it.

How do I do it? Well, what my moniker doesn't say is that I only have 1 at home and she is 17! :D Of hubby's 4 kids, 2 are grown and the other 2 live with their mom in SC.

Last...and definitely not least....God gave me a gift. I learn easily with minimal effort, so I don't need to study as much as some of my class mates.
