FCCJ Summer 2010 hopefuls...

Published

Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL

I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.

I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.

Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?

:nurse:

I'm confused by some of the dates in the packet. First of all, March 19th is not a Monday, its a Friday. Secondly, how on earth do we get the titers done and back by then? Very confusing. Are we expected to have it all completed by orientation?

Im happy, but kinda nervous about them only giving us 8 days to have this stuff done.

Which stuff will take long and which stuff can get done in a day?

Ah! I better start replying then!!!!! :) Are you days, WilburW?

Oh, no, I have not gotten accepted yet!!! I responded to another hopeful a little earlier that I was pulling for them because their points were 0.04 under mine!! :D I am sitting on 191.64 and currently enrolled in micro. I have a couple of C's from 1987 that are still haunting me. I will have the points in the fall definitely, but I would much rather get started NOW!!! I got a 112.64 on my Nat, so I am hoping that will help offset my lack of scholastic dedication from twenty-three years ago. If I only knew then what I know now.....

You say next week, do you think they are done for the week? Have they notified everyone that will be notified? Or will this continue for a few days until they are all out?

From what I've heard, people have until the 15th to accept or decline. Some people applied for multiple programs and may take a different program or some may have gotten accepted into other schools. After that date they may have more spots opened up that are not currently opened. However, I do not know if they are done this week or not, they may be sending out e-mails and letters daily. I am not familiar with the process that is used.

I got my email....I'm made night and weekends with 204 pts. yahooooo. My last name starte with a W

Does everyone have their CPR card already? I delayed in getting mine and I can't find anywhere to take the class before orientation!! Do we need it on that day? So many questions... :)

Let the race to get everything done begin! I'm hoping I can do it. Don't try to do the PPD today or tomorrow because it can't be read for 48-72 hours (I used to administer and read PPDs). Good luck everyone and post any helpful hints and places to go to get everything done so everyone knows what options there are!

Now that I think about it SOME places may do ppd on Friday and read it first thing Monday morning.
