Is it too early to start a thread like this? LOL
I'll be finishing up my pre-requisites this fall, and then applying in the spring for the Summer 2010 session. I still need to study for the NAT and actually take the exam and take a CPR course. I'm considering getting my CNA and trying to find work in healthcare to get my foot in the door.
I am so nervous about the whole process, nervous about whether I should try to work and go to school, and especially nervous if this is something I can handle. I am afraid of all the responsibility.
Anyone else planning for next Summer? What is your process looking like, what are your thoughts/feelings?
To psg513a I am really pulling for you, I hope your 191.60 is enough. My points are 191.64. I am currently in micro, so will be over 200 in the fall, but I really want to go ahead and get started. It looks like each year the cut gets higher, with fall being the lowest cut of the year because there are the most seats open. Keep your fingers crossed that we are high enough that we will hear something positive next week.
:lvan:Last term it was an all day orientation, 8 or 830-4 or 5 but we got out early. It starts with intro's from the School and is followed by lectures (short) and info on background, medical screenings... The polo shirt vendor had an emergency and wasn't there then. We drew numbers from a "hat" and chose our classes. You choose a section that has a schedule attached. If you get group 4 you are paired with group 3 for all of your classes, but only clinicals with group 4. There were 12 per group. Most picked by the clinical hospital attached to the group. Most bought books while they waited to pick groups. They have the books boxed and ready for you to inventory, sign and purchase. Then it's study time until the first day when we take our first two exams (we take exams on Mondays, everyone in the term, same exam, same time, no classes on Mondays) . Instructors submitted everything to Blackboard starting the Wednesday before classes started. They asked you to come with everything printed out, and assigned reading for the first week.
It's a lot of work - we'll survive and LOVE it!

You say next week, do you think they are done for the week? Have they notified everyone that will be notified? Or will this continue for a few days until they are all out?
