I know it is kind of early to start this thread but I thought maybe there were some others out there who are planning on applying for fccj/fscj fall 2010 RN program. Hope you will post on this thread!
yes! they will mix and match that way... but not within the academic aptitude... just mix and match the total aa, reading, and science. i know from experience... because the second time i improved in reading, and nonverbal and did worse on my verbal (proportional to my nonverbal improvement so same total aa score)... and they used only the change in my reading to calculate my points
thank you! i did better on the aa and the science the second time. the first time i took the nat i got a 98.56 but with the reading from last time and the aa and science from this time i have a 109.44. i am hoping to get nights/weekends. if i get a b in my micro i will have 218.44 but i don't know if that will be enough. hopefully i can get an a in micro and have 222.44. i'm still worried though that that won't be enough for nights/weekends.
there's still hope...i had to decline my summer 2010 seat yesterday during orientation when they announced that the nights/weekends classes would be held at north campus this time, rather than the traditional deerwood campus. so now i have to reapply (for the third time!) and hope i get in again
i am so sorry! how many points did you have? i am applying for fall and hoping to get nights/weekends. if i get a b in micro i will have 218.44 but i am hoping for an a. i'm taking it right now so i will have to see how my last test goes. if i can get an a it will put me at 222.44. i don't know if that will be enough for nights/weekends though. do you know why they moved the classes to north instead of deerwood? will that be from now on or was that just for summer term?
Does anyone know how many points you get for a years worth of LPN work? The lady at the nursing ofc said today that it used to be a year for extra points, but now its only 6 months. Also, does anyone know for sure about CLEP points?
Take a look at this. It should help. It says you can get 5 points for each year of service for a max of 20 points.

i have 223 points, but i'm also considered out-of-county (i live in st. johns), so i was totally shocked when i got in for nights/weekends for the summer term. i don't think you'll have any trouble getting in with your points. hopefully we'll be classmates! :)

Honestly, you rarely, if ever, see the students in the other terms.
The only way you will be "classmates" is if you fail a class and have to drop back a term. So, I would say I hope you and the poster aren't classmates!

Considering I had to decline my seat for Summer Term N/W because the classes will be held at the North Campus instead of Deerwood, I have to reapply for the Fall Term N/W classes. So, I really DO hope we become classmates because that will mean I actually got in (for the third time!)
I spoke to a VERY reliable source just yesterday about where the nights/weekends classes will be held and she said it will definately be in the Deerwood Campus. Apparently, FSCJ has a rotating schedule, all the way out to 2044 (!), of where the N/W classes will be held. Fall term will be in Deerwood, then get this...there will be N/W classes for Spring 2011 term (also in Deerwood) but no N/W classes for Summer 2011 term. Then the N/W will start back up again for Fall 2011 term, but at the North Campus.
So, anytime you have questions of where the classes will be located, they can just look at the predetermined schedule and advise you (good thing to know!)
hi i did read your post about the nat and how they mix and match scores. i did not so hot the first time but i am taking it again at the end of this month 5/28 (yes, pushing it ). just to make sure i understand, they will take both of your nat's and take the highest score from each section? or they either take the overall score from one sheet? i hope i wasn't confusing. if anyone has any info, to help, thanks.

they take the highest academic aptitude, highest science, and highest reading scores between all times taking the exam... so mix and match from the different sheets. they then take those points and multiply them by .64 to calculate your nat point total to be used towards your application. hope that helps.
best of luck!
I just went by to see if my final had been graded yet, and I found out I got an "A" in microbiology!!! That brings my point total up to 207.64.:w00t:
Unless there is a huge increase from last fall to this fall, I will definitely have enough points for the program and hopefully enough for nights and weekends. If not I will just have to go days....
