I know it is kind of early to start this thread but I thought maybe there were some others out there who are planning on applying for fccj/fscj fall 2010 RN program. Hope you will post on this thread!
Hey NurseU, I had the same question about the chem if I have already taken Micro. I spoke with someone in the Nursing Dept and they said if I took Chem in High School and passed and I have already taken Micro I don't have to take Chem to get into the Nursing Program. The only reason you have to take Chem is because it is a prereq to Micro BUT if you have ALREADY taken Micro with a passing grade you don't have to take Chem for the program. I am like 2000% sure of that because the nursing dept told me that themselves. But for you to be sure you need to call and Double check with them. I took Micro back in 2005 so I am good without a chem. You do have to present your high school transcript though to show that you did take chem. I have spoken the the nursing dept advisor at North Campus and they told me this. But double check for yourself.
Thanks everyone for your responses. I did call FSCJ and the lady told me that I do have to take Chem even though i've already taken Microb. And, unfortunately I didn't take Chem in highschool Still very interested in FSCJ just that i'm gonna have to wait until next summer to apply unless I can find a Chem course I can finish up by June 1!!! Good luck everyone who is applying for this fall term!!
I just want to thank everyone for your posts, they were full of very useful information. I wasn't sure if my score was competitive, 212.76, but it seems like I should get in based on what I've read on here. Is anyone trying to get credit for work experience? I've read their standards, but am curious if anyone has had their experience accepted or denied. I emailed Mrs *****, but she's out of the office until 12APR. I have a memorandum from my company commander and my separation paperwork from the Army, hopefully it's enough because without that 20pts I'll probaby miss the cut. I have 117.76pts from the NAT, 75 from GPA (haven't completed DEP2004) and 20, hopefully, from my time as a medic. Feeling pretty confident, good luck everyone.

Hi, everyone, I'm currently enrolled with FSCJ finishing up my last prereq for Daytona State's nursing program (Speech) but I find myself really, really liking this school. So much that I plan to apply to FSCJ for their Fall 2010 program but I have a bit of a problem. I am done with all my prereqs except for 1 - Chemistry but I went ahead and registered with FSCJ to take it during this upcoming summer (5/10-8/1). Do anyone know if I will still be able to submit my application to the nursing program even though I will be in the process of taking Chem when the application period ends? I really want to land nights/weekends and Fall is one of the only terms that has this schedule unless I wait until next summer. I know some colleges will allow this but I wasn't sure about this one. Thanks in advance for your help!
