Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Is everyone doing Worksource for books? Is there any one that had to just get the "needed" books and wait until later to get the rest? Besides the Dosage Calc & Med Term books...what books do we NEED like NOW?!? I am totally stressing right now!!!
Those are the only 2 you really need right now, but the Medical Terminology book comes in the boxed set thingy. So, if you want to save the $159, wait till you get your voucher from Worksource. Or, here's a thought, you could buy the Med. Term book now(out of pocket) & return the one that you get in the box. Does that make sense? I don't want to lead anyone down the wrong path, but I don't see how it matters to the bookstore.
But has any1 noticed that more pages have been added to what needs to be studied? Now we have to study pages 13-44...What were the page numbers before. Did any1 write them down from Orientation? I do believe there were less than 30 pages.

Yeah, what's up with that? I wrote down pages 12 to twenty-something, I can't read the last #, but I thought it was like 24 or 25.

Okay..so when doing work source and getting books (1) Get booklist from the book store (2) Go see Ms. Tookes (3) Go back to bookstore have them fax the forms, wait, and then have my books. Is that correct?? Well..can't wait to get my books!! I'm soooo excited!! And everyone needs to calm down. We will get through this "a bite at a time". lol I'm going to have fun getting the books to my car. i guess I will take a couple of trips. Oh can we use the vouchers to pay for the iclicker if there is something on the list we have already purchased or already have??

Yep that's it. If you see Ms. Tookes first then she will give you the sheet to take with you to get the booklist. I think Ms. Tookes said it was up to the bookstore because technically the iclicker is "supplies" not books. I specified that I wanted the iclicker seperately but I have a feeling that it was all going to be included anyway.

I have a hard time contacting Emily, also. I have left her 2 messages on her voicemail. Any suggestions on how to get a hold of her? I have to go back to the clinic tomorrow to get my mantoux read and pick up the rest of my papers.

I was at Charleston, South Carolina today on a roadtrip with my buddies, and I just got home a few seconds ago. I looked at my caller ID and I didnt get anything, so I guess I didnt get approved? I guess I'm going to call Mary Ann tomorrow and ask.

I picked up my Dosage and Calc and Med Terminonolgy Stuff today, along with the iclicker. I got a $500 scholarship from some funds stuff, and I decided to pick up an Anatomy book as well. I'm hoping to sell that on Amazon or something and hope to get a couple hundred dollars, seeing as if Worksource only will refund the difference. Hmmmmm...
If it doesnt work, I'll just return the Anatomy book and say I didnt need it. LoL.

Yeah..the pages are alll whack!!! lol..I didn't pay one bit of attention to them. Instead I put all of mine in order by the order it lists on the second page. Its crazy. Now, I have no idea which ones to study. I might just read everything twice and consider that studying..lol.
