FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Money, money, money.

I talked with my husband and I'm getting loans for the first term. And I'm gonna try to find a student worker position on the North Campus. It'll save on gas and time.

I just don't know how I'll study and be ok if I'm doing work or school everyday from 7am - 7pm. Except Tuesdays...till 9pm on Tuesdays. I figure I can work something out to cover the bills if I can get loans. I gotta tell my boss tomorrow. I wonder if she'll be upset at me.

Okay...so I have a Bright Futures Scholarship. It usually automatically covers my tuition when it is due, atleast thats what it did in the past. Should I just wait and see if it takes care of it? Also, apprently we didn't get our hand books today..because I got no e-mail. And I'm freaking out about books because I still have not heard anything from work source and I will be going to Key West Friday to Tuesday. OMG...this is sooooooo frustrating!!! I just want to hear something back from them atleast by Wednesday so I can run up there and get them. Thanks for listening to my lil vent session here. Hopefully everything will work out.

BSILVA88/ Brian: Have you heard anything from Mary Ann yet?? I'm going to go crazy if we don't hear something soon. Oh well, if worse comes to worse I will have to get them after Key West and study hard. What are you going to do??

I was also thinking of quitting my job --which is 16 hrs every weekend, but I will probably just hang in there til we start clinicals. My classes are on Tues-Weds-Thurs, so I think I will be able to manage until then.

This sucks balls.

I'm getting some books today because I need it.

Anyway, I'm going on a South Carolina Roadtrip, which would entitle me 4 hours of studying. Haha.

Molse - I wouldn't wait to just see if your tuiton is covered. I would go the the business office or the financial aid office and make sure it is ok. Get it in writing. I've seen a lot of students with bright futures get dropped from their classes for nonpayment.

I checked my tuition from "View my Schedule" on aretemis at the very bottom. I forgot that was how I checked. The original said I owed money and to pay by this time. And now is says n/a for everything and 0.00, which means its paid for...woohoo!! Thats atleast one problem solved.

Guessss what??? I just got a call from Ms. Tukes and I got approved for worksource. I'm going up to North tomorrow to talk with her. I'm sooooooo relieved and excited. :D

I had to share because molse and bsilva were asking about worksource....well I met with Mary Ann last wed, apparently a day after ya'll because she talked about both of you while I was there(all good of course). I was going to call today if I didn't hear anything because I was stressed about paying tuition and getting my books to study. Well I decided to check my payments on artemis because molse went and checked hers and as I was noticing that I had a zero balance as I am doing this I get a phone call from North campus worksource asking me to come in to finalize my stuff with them. Yay!!! So now I am officially enrolled and I am going up to get my books today. :yeah:

FYI: the boxed books aren't in yet. Mary at the bookstore said they "may" come in later this afternoon, around 4ish. Just thought I'd let y'all know in case y'all wanted to save some $. As y'all already know, I think they're $159 more if bought individually. I could use that $ to buy some good shoes!

Do they have the books individually? I scheduled to meet with Ms Tukes today becuase I thought all the books were in. I really don't want to have to go back again. Too much gas for driving from middleburg to there and back.

I'm pretty sure they have the books individually, but I just called again & the lady said the truck just showed up with the boxes. She got my # & is going to call me when they're all checked in. She said it would be a couple of hours though. Hope this helps...

you can call the bookstore @ 766-6631.
