FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

So totally off topic but did you guys see this.

It is a story about a woman asked to leave Kids Kampus because she was breastfeeding and the man said it was a bodily fluid and would contaminate the park.

As future health educators this is the kind of things we are going to have to deal with along with the misinterperations. Crazy!

me too, i am so glad that this is one less thing (important thing $) i have to worry about!!! i know i got the call this morning but i am still so happy. nothing is going to mess up my day. not even all the rain. ha ha. oh guys her name is tookes. i keep laughing when reading the posts. but whatever, i know i will call her anything she wants even "queen" as long as everything is still paid for ha ha.:heartbeat

The boxes have arrived! I just went to North campus & picked up my books... take a fork-lift with ya when ya go! Good heavens, to think my brain is going to be able to hold all that info.

Congratulations to you guys/gals!!!

So I met with Ms. Tookes today and she was really cool. She is under a lot of pressure right now to get everyone entered. One thing I wasn't aware of...you have to get your list of books from the bookstore then go back and get the voucher from Ms. Tookes then go back to the bookstore and have them fax the voucher to Kent campus, wait 30min(or so) then you can get your books. It was frustrating but I was just so excited about getting the books. I hope this helps. I didn't want anyone else to get surprised like I was cause I had no idea. Oh and Ms. Tookes told me to pay for the iClicker seperately because most everyone was only allotted 800.00 for books first time and it adds up to 890.00(for books not including the iclicker). It eats into money for next term. We get 200.00 2nd term, so 90.00 of that is already gone.

So, has anyone else gotten the email about the handbook yet???

For everyone who has gotten their books... do y'all feel overwhelmed now? I sure do! Panic is starting to set in, now that I've stacked all of the books on my dining room table. I'm kinda feelin' sick to my stomach.

As for the now infamous handbook we're supposed to be tested on... no sign of that still - we were warned by the Veterans about these kind of shenanigans. I was just hoping it wouldn't happen to us. LOL

I crack myself up sometimes!!!

I love that word, "shenanigans":hngon:

That's what made me laugh too!!

Is everyone doing Worksource for books? Is there any one that had to just get the "needed" books and wait until later to get the rest? Besides the Dosage Calc & Med Term books...what books do we NEED like NOW?!? I am totally stressing right now!!!
