Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
okay so i have an idea for the ones in section 11...heres my thoughts....maybe on tuesdays because we have class like all freakin day...we could meet somewhere in the middle where everyone lives, have lunch and then carpool to north campus taking turns....i just think that it would save a whole lot of money for gas, ya know....let me know what ya think!

Sounds good to me!!
I read the handbook already and noticed that our grading scale is going to be like the way it used to be an A is 100-93...and soo on. Anything below an 80 % is considered failing. Everyone ready for this??

I just saw that and am feeling even more pressure now. I am starting to feel more nervous and unprepared the closer day one is. We just have to keep telling ourselves that we can and will get through these 4 semesters. I am picking up my box with the books today and know that is going to overwhelm me even more. I am feeling very defeated today and I need to turn this around STAT! That always makes me feel better when I get to say STAT.
My husband gave me some good advice the other day. He said, "Look how many nurses there are. They went throught all of this, too. You all aren't the first and definetely won't be the last. This is all part of the process. Do you think they want a nurse that can't handle a little pressure?"
So, I just keep telling myself this, when I look at that GIGANTIC stack of books. They are putting the pressure on us to see if we've got moxie.
Yeah, I said it... moxie!
I know all of you have moxie or we wouldn't be into page 111 of this post, that was started back in April.
We are all going to great no matter what is thrown our way.
I was also feeling defeated, but a nurse gave me some encouragement last night. She said the worst part about the program is nerves, but once you get past that you will be fine. They make it seem hard the first semester to see who has it and who doesn't have it. I can tell you all that WE have it and will do well!!
hey guys! i got my books yesterday. and yes that was a lot of books. luckly my sister came along to help me carry all of them. oh, ms tookes told me not to get the iclicker but the bookstore lady said no its included in your voucher and i told her what ms. tookes said, not to add it. and she said "awww whatever everybody has been adding so don't worry about it." i said ok because there was a line of students wanting to pay. so my question is have any of you that have worksource used the voucher to pay for the iclicker? is it really a big deal? i know it eats into the rest of my money for books for the other terms but i don't want to get off on the wrong foot with them especially since they are paying for everything.:)
