Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Best of luck & success to all!!!
Am I reading right? Did they change section 9's clinical location?? We were supposed to be at Vincent's now at Baptist DT...That kinda sux cause I chose that section counting on the driving distance for me, now Im going to have to go downtown...O well guess sacrifice is going to be a large word in my vocabulary over the next sixteen months lol

Me too, I am pretty ticked about that. I am never going to make it on time I just hope Gill will be understanding. I cannot drop off my son before 630am (and I have to drop off my 3 daughters before him) and figured St Vincents would be awesome but now I don't think I can make it from his daycare to downtown and park and walk in by 7am. My hubby is gone and I will only make it on time the days my brother doesn't have to work on Fridays. Oh well. It will all work out in the end.
Kodiakgirl- lol..don't feel bad. I only knew about the calculator because I was too excited to wait and see what was in the bag. :)
NaveyWifem- I would call someone in regards to your changing schedule. From what I read in the handbook they are VERY strict on tardiness/ absenses to anything. They will probably be willing to help in any way they can. I also work at Baptist Downtown. If you have any questions about how to get there or anything like that let me know. I hope this is somewhat helpful. You're going to do great.
As far as changes go, this will be an ongoing thing. We are in for an interesting year and four months. Yay us!!! lol
I have a couple of questions:
A. When do we need our skills kit? And how long did it take to get it after you ordered it?
B. When do we need our uniforms? I still do not have mine.
C. Megan, are you a CNA at Baptist?
Sorry.. Inquiring mind here. This storm is bringing out the impatient side of me. LoL.

(1) You don't order the skills kit. You just go pick it up. It was kind of hard to find.
(2) I think we use our uniforms for the simulations. Maybe like a couple weeks into the course then. I have no clue.
(3) No, I'm a Technical Assistant in the Pediatric Radiology Department at Wolfson's Children's Hospital. Its on the same campus though, so i know my way around Baptist well.
lol..I wish this storm would go away. Although I didn't have to go into work today because of it, so its not all that bad. I just need some sunshine or I go nuts!!

I would call or email and get directions. I had a GPS and thought I would be able to find it but I got lost(with help). I think it is right off of Arlington Expressway......definitely get directions from them.
hey everyone!!
the stupid calculator that i got in my skills kit does not work!! i really would hate to go there just for that but gesh 82 dollars for the darn bag. i dont want to spend another dime even for a cheap calculator. my credit card is already worn out with all the purchases i have made for school. (i still need a few things) the credit card company probably thinks it has been stolen. :)
my lights keep going off, i hope fay has enjoyed her stay but now is time for her to go away. sorry mother nature i am still mad that my cheap calculator wont work. ha ha
added to post........too funny: you guys i better stop picking on fay because i acutally had to wait just to post this comment. my lights went out right in the middle of me typing that last sentence. that was at 2:30pm. i guess fay is trying to tell me to shut up and she will leave when she is ready!!! my bad, you got it fay but could you please stop interupting my service!!:chuckle

I too had a mild anxiety attack at the amount of stuff already on BB. I figure if I can eat, sleep and do nothing but breathe College Algebra for 8 weeks and still get an A (math is hard for me) then I can learn anything!!
