  1. Hi bmcm2girls, May I ask what hospital you're at?
  2. I'm not entirely finished with clinicals but so far I'd say Peds was hardest, emotionally. I learned pretty quickly that I'm not cut out for sick kids, especially sick kids with bad/neglectful parents.
  3. I'm in Jacksonville, Fl. I know I have to relocate either way because this area is full of current and future new grads.
  4. Hi Matolamom, Have you heard of new grad hiring freezes in that same area lately?
  5. Hi HeartsOpenWide, Was it easy to get the NRP on your own? I've worked as an uncertified doula before but I didn't know whether that would be perceived as useful or not. I would love to have additional clinical hours in L&D, how did you set that up? Sorry for all the questions.
  6. Hey everyone, I graduate from an RN (non-BSN) program in December and really want to get into Labor and Delivery. Its what I went to nursing school for. I've done some research and a lot of hospitals seem to have gotten rid of their new grad programs. Are there any new graduate L&D internships/externships that you know of that are still functional? I figure I should start applying for positions in October and I'm willing to relocate anywhere if I can find the right job. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. - Sib

  8. I know most of you guys are in a different section, but did anyone have issues with finding the access code to the Fundamentals of Nursing text? We were told it was supposed to be on the wrapper that the book came in but half my class threw away that wrapper without noticing. Did you have the same problem?
  9. I think it only lets me send email. I don't see a place to send a private message.
  10. thank you for posting that. i'm not consistently getting email from ms. emily and without it i woulda been lost tomorrow wondering what the heck is going on. just in case, has ms. emily sent out any email since the 21st?
  11. Can someone tell me the contact info for the company that we get the skills kit from? I'd forgot about ordering it and now I seem to have lost the paper.
  12. Is there a central place to find info about each states position?
  13. I think we get one for each evolve course, I received an email yesterday for the Medical Terminology and then one today for Pharmacology I think.
  14. Hi guys, I haven't posted on here yet but I got into section 5. I've been catching up on all the posts here and now I'm wishing I'd signed up to this thing earlier. Anyhow... I haven't received that student handbook email or an email about changing of schedules. Do you guys know who I should call to fix that? I got an email last night about evolve so I know my email is working. - Sib
  15. I don't remember where I'd read it, but sometime last year I read an article that mentioned that RN-MSN programs for diploma/adn RN's would be going away since the trend is supposedly toward mandating BSN degrees. In your opinion, is there any truth to this?
