Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.
I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.
I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!
I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!
Yea, I was hoping changes had been made to Section 11 & the 6-9pm class. Is Term 2 a lottery schedule also?
For this semester term 2 was not a lottery it was more like a mad dash. What they had been doing was sending out the schedule for the next term and then giving us a time to register. For example I'm going in to term 2 and I'm in nights and weekends. Our registration opened August 6th at 6pm. So you can imagine that everyone in the program was sitting at the computer on august 6th starting at 5:55 and waiting for the clock to hit 6pm so you could push the button to add the classes.
Unfortunately registration this semster has been a huge mess due to several factors and in the end they had to close registration and the nursing office went back in and manually entered people into sections randomly. And this applied to all terms. So people who had signed up for certain sections were moved and people who were unable to register for whatever reason were assigned a section.
Long story short Ms Barrett (the director) is speaking to administration to see if they can come up with a better way to do it next semester but for now it's who ever pushes the "add classes" button fastest.
Section 3 got slammed with the changes. I'm grateful section 11 hasn't changed (sorry bossladii) because then I'd have to rearrange childcare. Is anyone else having 7th grade flashbacks with the fractions? I know I'll make stupid mistakes now like I did back then. Sigh...

i am glad that our section didn't change too because my job would have had a fit. they already don't like the fact that i cut my hours back.
omg i hate fractions and hate is a under statement!!! some of this stuff i have to pull way deep down out of my brain to remember. thank goodness for calculators. i too make stupid mistakes when it comes to math. especially with the "easy" math. :heartbeat
lol..I'm glad section 11 didn't get changed either. I already gave work my hours and I started to adjust to the schedule. I'm glad I'm not the only one bad at math..I HATE it as well. Oh well..we have to do what we have to do. Hope everyone is having a great day!!
So today I went and got my worksource thingy and got my books. Oh did I mention I now have a problem in the middle of my back from lifting a box they let me put all the books in. All that and I still have to go back next week and get the RN notes and pharmacology book which is on order. Not a huge deal.
They weren't kidding about checking your FCCJ email often were they? Also, just a little heads up. I saw a guy I took micro with today and a few of his classmates at the college.....they all looked dead on their feet. Finals. This one girl and everyone else were all like, "Enjoy this weekend because after this Monday you won't be able to!" Everyone ready for this?
Oh goodness I'm going to misss my life. I definitely enjoyed myself last night because I wasn't working. If anyone has been going on Blackboard we already have our "Health Assesment Across the Lifespan" on there. Wow!!! The amount of stuff you have to know and be able to do. I'm nervous!!
Well, just thought I'd get on tonight before the storm hits and we possibly lose power..not fun. Hope everyone is having a great evening.
