Anyone else planning on applying to FCCJ's nursing program for Fall '09? I figured we might as well start a "support group" thread of sorts for those of us who are. Never too early to start, right?
So because I waited until mid March to take the iNAT instead of taking it in January like a smart person so I could give myself a chance to take the it again before time to apply for Fall, I was over confident and I ended up screwing myself. I've made straight freaking A's and have 104 points to apply with my grades but I only got 82 points out of the NAt because my basic, simple, 8th grade math skills are so retarded that I did amazing on every section except math. I bought an Arithmetic made easy book to teach myself how to do it again in my head rather than with a calculator. I was just really discouraged b/c I've worked so hard for so long to let some stupid test to decide my immediate future. However, I'm over being upset about it, nothing I can do about it now. I'll still apply with my 186 points and if I don't get in, I'll have 202 points after this summer even if I don't retake the NAT. If I don't get in for fall, I'll just have to wait for Spring 2010.
I really think you will be fine, seeing how the fall accepts almost twice the amount of students.
Thanks CJFIRE.
After taking the NAT I immediately went to see my student advisor and she said to apply and hope for the best. I'm borderlined. She made me feel better though when she said I'm an excellent student and they would be glad to have me . She also said that Fall is actually the hardest to get into because all of the moms like to stay at home with their kids during the summer and apply for fall. That's something I didn't even put into consideration but it makes since. Since the cut off changes every semester and Duval and Nassau has priority, I'm just going to apply and hope for the best
Hey guys! I'm applying to the Fall term for 2009. Can anyone give me the formula for figuring out my points for classes? I have requested the application packet from the nursing office but haven't gotten it yet and Im getting anxious. Also I'm taking my NAT next Wednesday, any tips? :redbeathe

I'll be applying for Fall '09. Didn't make the cut-off for Summer '09.FWIW - Summer cut off was 190.24. They had 397 applications for 96 slots. I ranked 126th with a score of 185.32. So between my score and the cut off of 190.24 there were 30 people across those 4.94 points. It's very competitive folks (but we've heard that, right?)!!
I'm going to retake the NAT in May - I know I can get a better score!
I also didn't get into the summer, although I wasn't suprised. I wasn't expecting to get in, I just thought I'd give it a shot. I was still taking 2 prereqs that weren't included in my points total. I just completed Sociology last week and I have 2 more weeks of Micro. If I get the grade I think I'm going to get in Micro, I should be applying to fall with 205 ponts. I also plan on retaking the NAT so if I get a better score my points could go up. Are you hoping to get into nights or days ElsieFL?
Im glad someone made a thread for the fall '09ers! Has anyone sent their applications in yet? I just have to finish my spring semester and take the NAT test. I was hoping someone could tell me exactly how to apply? do we just print out all our transcripts and such and bring it to north campus or something? im alittle lost.
I haven't sent my app for the Fall yet. I have one more week of Micro left, and I plan on retaking the NAT. But I applied to the Summer and you have to take the application, your NAT scores, and a copy of your transcripts to the North Campus before the deadline. I think that's it, if I remember correctly.
