  1. I've been out of Nursing school for about 9 months now, and I recently got a job at a LTC facility. I'm very excited, but nervous bc i feel like ive forgotten everything! Any advice or tips to kind of job my memory? I dont want to show up on the first day and look like an idiot!!
  2. phew, thanks for the hope, lol. ive been getting alittle discouraged. I really think i'd like to start off at a LTC facility so that i can get some experience on my skills before i work at a hospital anyway. Can you give me any advice on getting a job? where to look, resume techniques... ANYTHING?! lol
  3. Thank you so much for the helpful post! I know alot of the hospitals require experience ans BSN... I am working towards my bachelors now, and I'm looking for anything i can get atleast a years experience with. Thanks again!
  4. HI everyone, Im sure this question has been asked MILLIONS of times, but i couldnt find my answer, so im wondering if you could help me out! Im originally from new england, but moved to FL with my husband when he joined the navy. now that hes out, we'd like to move back. I recently graduated in May with my ADN, passed my NCLEX, but I have no experience except for of course clinicals. How is the job market for new grads, and what is the base pay for ADN new grads? Im looking to work in southern new hampshire (manchester and below...) Thank you sooo much!
  5. HI everyone, Im sure this question has been asked MILLIONS of times, but i couldnt find my answer, so im wondering if you could help me out! Im originally from mass, but moved to FL with my husband when he joined the navy. now that hes out, we'd like to move back. I recently graduated in May with my ADN, passed my NCLEX, but I have no experience except for of course clinicals. How is the job market for new grads, and what is the base pay for ADN new grads? Im looking to work ANYWHERE in the boston metro area (north shore, south shore, downtown, metrowest) Thank you sooo much!
  6. thanks for the time future! do you happen to know where we go for the audit too? what size binders did you guys get? ive started to print out all the info, its taking ALOT of paper!
  7. question: i seem to have misplaced my paper, when are the degree audits on monday? I'm in section 12. Also, i feel pretty confident on my med. terms and im still ALITTLE nervous about the dosage calculations.... just because im not very good at math. good luck everyone! I saw the syllabi for our classes today... just LOOKING at it made me feel overwhelmed!
  8. Jan, Im in section 12! im really excited to start classes! so just because im SUPER nervous and want to make sure im covering all my bases, the dosage calc test covers adding, subtracting, multiplying, &dividing fractions/decimals, and converting right? what else? and medical terminology is just memorizing the word parts & putting them together? and can someone PM me CP's email? i cant seem to find it anywhere!
  9. Thanks, My daughter went to the southside daycare last year, but i switched her to north campus and was able to get her in. I applied a couple weeks ago for the child care grant (the 80% one) but i still havent received anything about it? I'm hoping it comes in soon... bc childcare can get expensive!
  10. I went on amazon.... and didnt see that great of deals? maybe you took them all, tmooney! lol I individually priced out all the books in the box on amazon, and it came out to $ 404... butthen i'd have to buy the online access codes as well, so that ended up bringing it to $512.... and I'm still not sure if I'd rather just pay the $617 to get brand new books all in one shot... or if its worth the $100 bucks to do them individually.... i do think im gonna order the books thats DONT come in the box on amazon though. so much stuff to do still! does anyone bring their kids to the on-campus daycare? I just registered for ym classes, my last name begins with a B though... so maybe i'm at the top of the list and thats why? I say you try after lunch, future.
  11. hey everyone! i didnt get to meet any of you either, unfortunately I got section 12, so futureRNMOM were gonna have classes together! I was #78..... where was everyone sitting in the auditorium? I was sitting in the back left (if youre facing the stage) I got there super early, and just sat in my car with my daughter and ate breakfast, lol. cant wait to start classes, i gotta start studying for our first test soon! Did you guys get the section you wanted? mine was my #2 pick, so i cant complain.
  12. congrats! i was like that too! my husband was laughing at me bc when the ups guy knocked on our door i jumped up and started dancing my way to the front door, haha! how do they fit??
  13. Do we need to bring anything to the orientation?? and does anyone know what hospitals are available for term 1 clinicals?
  14. Whos your Dr. at NS?? I went there on Monday to get mine drawn and when i went back on wednesday to get my PPD read 2/5 were already done! theyre pretty quick. But I was told by CP that all you need is something showing that you got them drawn and they are pending. I had my Dr print out the lab report. CONGRATS on your daughter... is she your first?
  15. lol, sounds like we are on the same page! Im waiting to buy my polo at the orientation too, and I'm also waiting until they get the missing peice to buy my skills kit. Hopefullt they get it in soon so I can finish up my to-do list! btw does anyone know what a hemostate is? I saw we need it in our pocket protector.
