Patho. It's the class where everything came together and finally made sense. It's the class that pulled all the systems together and helped me understand why this happening in system A made that happen in system B, C, and D. It made me understand why certain meds are prescribed, etc. There were a lot of "Aha!" moments in patho :)
MED SURG! *not* LOL, I dunno. I hated/loved med surg. On the one hand, it's the one class that made you feel like you're starting to get into the meat of what's nursing, as opposed to Fundamentals. But my God this class was the hardest academic challenge I've ever faced. I hear people saying it gets a bit easier after MS, so we'll see.
I loved maternal child and my preceptorship (but then, I'm studying to be a CNM, and precepted in mother baby!). I really enjoyed psych, to my surprise, as well, but I think this is a case that just demonstrates what a difference the professor makes. She and our clinical instructor were AWESOME.
Med/Surg so far because of what has been mentioned before- it's when a lot of things started coming together. I'll have another Med/Surg class in the fall, so we'll see if it stays as a favorite, lol.
I'm hoping that Mental Health will be a close second favorite, so we'll see with that in the fall, too.
I have to say, before I took Maternity/OB, I had no interest in it. I loved my L&D rotation. Go figure :)
I'm halfway done. Still waiting for acute care (ICU/ER), which I have a huge interest in pursuing. Hopefully, I'll like it as much as I think I will. I'm trying to keep an open mind.
I really didn't think med surg was as bad as a lot of people said it would be. I *loved* my OR rotation :)

I just want to know if there were any classes that you really enjoyed and why. I asked a girl a couple days ago and she said pharmacology...but then she dropped out two weeks later (must have switched drug categories or something in the meantime???)
