"No great genius has ever existed without some touch of madness"- Aristotle

Not nursing but one of my favorites

"When things get bad, when things aren't nice; just pull down your pants and slide on the ice." - adaptation from M.A.S.H.

That one always reminds me to keep my sense of humor when things start to suck.

Maybe slightly less applicable to nursing, but has always been my favorite quote:

It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.” - J.R.R. Tolkien

Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. - Dr. Seuss

Love what you do for a living and you'll never work a day in your life!

"The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bulls**t story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it."

-Jordan Belfort

Not an excellent role model, but a motivational quote.

I attribute my success to this:—I never gave or took an excuse. -Florence Nightingale

"It would be a promotion."

My motivational quote wasn't said by anyone famous and it's not on a poster in a breakdown somewhere. A doctor came in to see a patient of his, it was the first time he had been in or facility. He wanted to change up some of the meds so I asked him if he could fill out one of our order forms so that we would have a hard copy. There's 2 signature lines, one for the doc and one for the nurse. After finishing writing the order he went to sign it and began signing on the nurse's line. He says "sorry I wrote on the wrong line, want me to do another one? " So I told him jokingly "no that's alright, we'll just have you be a nurse for the rest of the shift!" He looks me square in the eye and says "honestly, it would be a promotion." ❤

Not everyone is as lucky as me to be able to work, so I will keep going to help others that need me. And there is always a bottle of wine in the fridge when I get home!!!

"You are my angel, we need more nurses like you!" :nurse:
