Farmingdale State College

Hi guys. I'm new to posting but I've been a long time lurker. I just wanted to know if anyone is in or is planning to attend Farmingdale State College. I want to go there but I want to know some more information about it. What are the pre-reqs for the LPN program? What is the lowest composite score that they look at? All other schools tell you this but I can't find that info anywhere on Farmingdale's website. I'm currently studying for the exam (even though I have NO IDEA when the next PAX-PN test is being given in NY). I got a B in Psych and also a B is English. I have to re-take A&P1 in the Fall because I didn't do so well in it. I'm trying my hardest to get an A in it so that they'll at least consider me for the program. I'm sorry for the long post but I'm just panicking because I have no clue what I'm really doing lol. I'd love if anyone/everyone could help me out. What other pre-reqs do I need for the PN program? Is it really hard to get into? I'm pretty much freaking out about....EVERYTHING:banghead:. I just don't feel like I'm doing enough. Seriously, do you all think I have a good shot at getting in with the grades I stated above?:confused:

I didn't do too well on the exam, I only got an 82. But I have all of my pre-reqs completed. My grades are great, so maybe that's what helped me get through also :) Especially on my regents exams. When I took the test, they told us that we would get letters notifying us whether or not we were accepted after Easter. That's why when I got a letter from Farmingdale I thought it might have been bad. lol At the time, the instructor told us there was only about 54 more seats available.

Hey Jen. Are you going for the BA program or the AS?

You just gave me SOOOO much hope because I also got an 82 and thought that was SOOO bad because I had heard someone else say that they only accept those who get a 90 or more so up until I read your thread I pretty much thought I had no hope. I have a 4.0 GPA and the only pre-reqs I need are chemistry, micro, and Sociology so keep your fingers crossed for me and once again Congrats!

Anyone know when orientation is by the way?

I was told we would receive the orientation packet in April, so I am assuming late April/early May?? That's around the time it was last year.

I applied and took the NLN. I got a 99 compositite. I have a BA in Psychology and my GPA is a 3.0. Is that score good enough for acceptance? I took it at another school and fowarded my scores to Farmingdale. I still have not gotten any letters in the mail as yet.

3.0 is a good gpa. farmingdale looks at the score under where it says AD in the top right side. I got an 86 i dont remember what my composite score was but i guess we all just have to wait and see. I know it sucks to wait but we have no choice lol. I know farmingdale also takes into consideration how many prerequisites you've completed. GOOD LUCK HOPE WE ALL GET IN!

ohhhhhhhhh gosh!!! there is no way im getting in. i got a 50 in the portion under AD. Yikes! I took those science classes soooooo long ago. I was very rusty. Even though I studied my ass off. oh no! i feel like crying!

Bahagurl - What was your composite score? Do you have good grades? Are most of your pre-reqs done?

Even though they to take into account 50% the NLN test, they also look at grades and how many pre-rews are done.

FYI Nassau Community does not require an entrance exam
