Farmingdale State College

Hi guys. I'm new to posting but I've been a long time lurker. I just wanted to know if anyone is in or is planning to attend Farmingdale State College. I want to go there but I want to know some more information about it. What are the pre-reqs for the LPN program? What is the lowest composite score that they look at? All other schools tell you this but I can't find that info anywhere on Farmingdale's website. I'm currently studying for the exam (even though I have NO IDEA when the next PAX-PN test is being given in NY). I got a B in Psych and also a B is English. I have to re-take A&P1 in the Fall because I didn't do so well in it. I'm trying my hardest to get an A in it so that they'll at least consider me for the program. I'm sorry for the long post but I'm just panicking because I have no clue what I'm really doing lol. I'd love if anyone/everyone could help me out. What other pre-reqs do I need for the PN program? Is it really hard to get into? I'm pretty much freaking out about....EVERYTHING:banghead:. I just don't feel like I'm doing enough. Seriously, do you all think I have a good shot at getting in with the grades I stated above?:confused:

Has anyone applied yet for fall 2010? I did and cant stand the wait for knowing if i got in or not. I have great grades but got a 121 composite 82 percentile on the pre-entrance exam and i dont think thats good =(

I also applied to NCC so my fingers are crossed

hey!

im going to take the entrance exam for farmingdale this friday. Im nervous too cuz i was told that im on the waiting list and basically theyre jus waiting to see how i do on the entrance exam. You should try calling the nursing department and just ask about the status of your application....maybe it will show that you are very concerned and really want to get in...... lol

Hey Tanu, I got the same letter saying I was on the waitlist. I think I might do that, but honestly I did kinda bad on the entrance exam. I got a composite score of 121 and a percentile grade of 82. The test you are going to take is all computerized and in the end you can see your results, or they give you a piece of paper to take home with you that give you instctions of how to get online and get your grades yourself. I kinda choked on the science section, I studied as much as I could but I am out of highschool now 10 years and things are hard to remember. Good luck to you....make sure you post how you did.

Hey!

so i took the nln test for farmingdale today and i got an 86 (composite score 125) :eek: which is not great. i thought i would really do better but i guess i didnt time myself properly and rushed to finish each section. but anywayz its just a waiting game now. Hopefully i will hear some good news from them:D.

Tanu....you did well! Better than me - I got composite 121 with 82 score. What is your GPA are all your pre-reqs? Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed and wait for the mail.. i HATE waiting!

yea i have all my pre-reqs with As and Bs in most except for chem which i think i have a C. The lady said they already started sending out replies to ppl. I wonder how many more have to test yet. Do you know when the last testing date is? I hope there's not too many ppl left...haha

This is what I heard....they have already sent out acceptance letters and denial letters. If you did not get a letter it means you are still on the waiting list. I called and asked for the status of my application and was that was what I was told. The woman told me that I am on the wait list and it pretty much depended on how the rest of the other students do who take the NLN. I am not accepted yet or denied....just have to wait and I hate it!

did anyone who's still waiting for a reply from farmingdale hear anything? Im getting anxious by the day.....i haven't gotten any reply yet. Im still hangin on to the waiting list...lol

Jupiter that is FABULOUS!!! You must be so excited I am excited for you! Did you get a letter or a phone call? If you don't mind me asking what was your schore on the test and do you have A's in all you classes? I'm still on the waiting list I was told =(

I still have to take sociology, micro, and chem so I wonder if that hurts my chances as well. Did you have all your pre-reqs done? Congrats again!

Don't worry Tanu there is still hope for us I hope!

Thanks everyone, I have been lurking around here since last April and I finally had something to post about!! We were told on Saturday that if they would start making decisions based on our scores today and that if we were in the upper 90's as long as our transcripts and such were ok that we should be hearing back this week or so. I got a phone call from one of the admissions people I met on Saturday at the exam, she was very sweet and friendly and called to give me the good news today. I surprisingly did very well on the exam, by the end of it I though I bombed it, but when she checked my score I got a composite score of 144 and the AD percentile score of 98% (which is what they said they go by). I think I pinched myself 50 times on my way back to my car, I couldn't believe I did that well. All my prereq's are done, so all I have left are my nursing classes. Good luck to everyone else! Keep trying and don't give up if things don't work out this time. I was told I would receive my official acceptance letter in the next week or so with more info, so that's all I know up to this point.

P.S.- Didn't spell check, I have to get back to studying!!
