what will cause a false positive? all i take everyday is an OTC multivitamin, aspirin or ibuprofin occasionally for headaches or cramps, & topical medication for my skin. will any of those be of concern for this urine drug test?

when you take the drug test you must notify them of all the medications you take.
and to answer your question no.
to be more specific it depends upon what exactly they are testing for.
there are several different panels but the basics are;
cocaine, opiates, pot, methamphetamines and pcp

I would avoid eating poppy seeds. Even one bagel with poppy seed eaten within the last 48 hours can result in a positive test for opiates. Supposedly, the testing threshold for opiates has been raised so that poppy seed technically won't result in a false positive, but I personally don't want to take that chance.

The confirmatory tests usually rule out the false positives like poppy seeds. None of the stuff you listed would routinely cause a problem. Our basic drug screen includes THC, cocaine, methamphetamines, opiates, benzos, barbituates, and oxycodone. For fun, sometimes we throw in ETOH, too. :~) I wouldn't worry- you should be fine.
